In 2000, we were exploring the Sebastian area, hoping to one day live there. We met Rodney Hicks at an open house in Sebastian. Rodney was extremely helpful. He provided a map of the city and answered all of our questions. We explained to him that we were in the “just looking” stage. He offered to send us some listings on a weekly basis and we agreed. We pursued our search for a home in the area that year, and the following year, and made occasional trips, meeting with Rodney and looking at homes. We were not ready to make a purchase, but we were still very interested. Rodney understood our situation, and we never felt pressured by him. This was a key factor in our relationship with him. At one point we did ask Rodney to stop sending us listings, as we realistically knew we were not in a position to make a purchase. Rodney again, understood our situation, and we in turn assured him that when we were ready we would contact him. And we did. In April of 2002, we closed on a beautiful home in the Sebastian Highlands. Rodney was very patient with us in this search, and we appreciate that.
