We created the Central Florida concept and provided all architectural and interior services for this Hard Rock flagship at Universal Studios. This three story Greek revival building thrusts sixty feet into the air through the body of a 340-foot long Fender Stratocaster. From day one, this shrine of rock music became the most successful unit in the chain. Our firm received the Award of Excellence from the American Institute of Architects for architectural creativity. We proposed this gathering place as a tribute to the artist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. Like the art of Toulouse, the lounge was conceived as an impressionistic vision of the unabashed romance and glamour of Paris in the 1890’s. The interior is finished with a rich palette of materials and it is an intimate and comfortable respite that invites its guests to linger amongst many of the artist’s reproductions.
