In 1990, Robinson took on the Smooth Jazz format in Tampa at WHVE for Susquehanna, and when The Wave was acquired by Paxson Broadcasting later that year, he was invited to stay and design the station's Rock AC product, WHPT. The Point debuted in the Top 5 and Robinson was courted away to The Twin Cities to lead AAA KTCZ/Minneapolis to a ratings record that has yet to be attained since fall 1992. Cities 97 earned various awards in local publications for Best Station of the Year. He spent the late 90's in record promotion with Midwest Music Alliance and his own company, Jim Robinson Promotions, where he was one of AAA music's primary promotional voices. After a brief stint at Entercom Sacramento's Alternative KWOD, Robinson decided it was time to leave terrestrial radio behind and pursue his vision of pervasive Internet radio. He formed Radio Brandcasting, Inc. where he builds exclusively branded Internet radio stations for high profile companies. Radio Brandcasting, Inc. 2009 - 2010
