QUESTION MARK ENTERTAINMENT, LLC, MIRAMAR

Question Mark Entertainment (QME) is a full-service entertainment firm that specializes in Management, Bookings and Consultancy. Since 2001 we have gained a vast level of experience from working in multiple fields such as: artist management and bookings, event consultancy and management, television and video production, product launches, production of major concerts, seminars and workshops, plus sourcing of talent for various gigs. This body of work has allowed us to understand the intricate working processes of the entertainment industry, and therefore figure out how best to work with clients in achieving their goals. As we continue to expand our networking base through the West Indies, we hope to continue fostering the growth and development of the sector, and providing assistance to all aspiring talent living in the Caribbean region and beyond. Founded by Simon Baptiste (CEO) and Carolyn Pasea (Managing Director), Question Mark Entertainment (QME) has shaped the careers of dozens of talented acts over the last decade, including Kes the Band, Rikki Jai, Maximus Dan, and Tessanne Chin. Although a relatively unknown firm at the time of its start-up, with the commencement of a series of entertainment workshops, conferences and showcases known as DeciBel (2001 – 2005), QME would become widely known for its ability to recruit highly regarded industry personnel throughout the Caribbean, North America and Europe to the shores of Trinidad & Tobago, to speak on issues related to music and television & film production. Billed as a South by Southwest for the Caribbean, DeciBel attracted Presidents of Record labels and Motion Picture firms, popular singers and actors, major executives, and international media. Not limited to music as a medium, QME has also brokered major deals in television and film, which includes facilitating the E Entertainment Network’s once highly popular traveling show: Wild on E! (2002); as well as coordinating production aspects of the US nationally syndicated hit series on MTV, The Gauntlet II, aka The Real World vs. Road Rules Challenge (2005), and Bravo’s Project Runway (2011). In 2009 Question Mark Entertainment would enter the realm of video production, and partnered with Grassy Slopes (a production company founded by renowned actor Shia LaBeouf) to produce the short film feature, “The Smallest River in Almirante”; this was then followed by the “The Rise & Fall of John Tesoro” starring Gerry Bednob in 2011. Additionally, with the ability to act as a production house, QME has produced dozens of music video hits like Kes the Band’s “Tuesday on the Rocks” and “Stress Away”. Due to the company’s vast connections in the industry they have also been successful in getting placement for a number of clients (both in front and behind the camera) on various TV and Film projects such as Disney’s “That’s So Raven” and the CBS smash television sitcom, “Two & A Half Men”. Question Mark Entertainment continues to expand its base throughout the Caribbean by working with various Government agencies in different territories, and setting up educational seminars and workshops, with the hope of fostering growth and development as well as possibly discovering new talent. After graduating with a B.Sc. in Communications from the University of Miami in 1995, Simon moved to Los Angeles, California, to pursue an entertainment career. There he spent two years working as an Assistant for John Dukakis & Qadree El-Amin at Southpaw Entertainment, (a firm responsible for the careers of artists like Boyz II Men & Janet Jackson). After this, he relocated to Jamaica to work with Main Street Records on Specialized Media Projects, where he developed a reggae documentary titled “Two Wicked”; in which he captured the lives on film of several major reggae and dancehall artists such as Red Rat, General Degree, Buju Banton & Sean Paul, as they traveled around the globe. Feeling the need to return home to help develop artistic talent in Trinidad and Tobago, he joined forces with Carolyn Pasea in 2001 to successfully build Question Mark Entertainment into one of the top management and booking agencies in the Caribbean. For more than 10 years he has engineered some of the biggest deals within the Caribbean Entertainment Diaspora: from brokering multi-million dollar television production contracts (from the E! Entertainment Network and Bunim-Murray/MTV); to negotiating publishing, licensing, and record deals. Recently, after participating in strategic talks with the Caricom Secretariat, he has focused his energies on forging collaborative ventures with several Caribbean nations, in an effort to help develop their entertainment sectors. Simon Baptiste is seen as one of the top visionaries in his field who continues to provide inspiration through his work. After receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Carolyn returned to Trinidad after living most of her life in Scotland. She kick-started her career as an intern with Price Waterhouse, before moving on to Lonsdale/Saatchi & Saatchi a year later as an Account Executive. At Lonsdale she was responsible for several major accounts including the West Indian Tobacco Company (WITCO) and Pepsi Caribbean. It was her work at Lonsdale that introduced her to the music industry, as she was charged with the responsibility for staging major musical events in Trinidad and throughout the Caribbean. At that time she also created sponsorship and endorsement deals for some of the biggest names in the industry. In 2001 she would leave Lonsdale and embark on a journey to forge a dream of her own via the set-up of Question Mark Entertainment. Since then she has won multiple awards for her work in music publishing, and created major licensing deals in television, film and gaming software for the Playstation and X-Box gaming consoles. Today Carolyn Pasea is seen as one of the pioneers in her field, a positive female role model, and regarded as an authority in the music industry and other facets of entertainment.
