The PCG Cares program is an extension of that commitment, focused on supporting populations in need and improving lives. We created PCG Cares to encourage employees to get involved and give back to the communities we serve. As such, PCG Cares’ mission is a simple one: engage employees to support populations in need. Members of the Clarkston, WA Social Security Advocacy Management Services (SSAMS™) team partnered with the Inland Northwest (NW) Blood Center in an organized blood drive. The Blood Center brought one of their mobile donation buses to the PCG office and coordinated donations throughout the day on March 29, 2018. PCG had eight volunteers donate blood for the Inland NW Blood Center, which is part of a network that provides blood, blood components and special services to patients in more than 1,000 hospitals across the country. This past Thursday, members of PCG’s education team in Staunton, VA joined forces to give back to their community. For a few hours, the team helped pack 350 boxes of non-perishable food that will be distributed to low-income elderly persons in the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank's (BRAFB) service area. Raleigh office helps the Green Chair Project On Friday, March 9, several PCG employees from the Raleigh office spent the day helping out with the Green Chair Project. The Green Chair Project is an organization that provides home furnishings donated from the local community for families and individuals who have transitioned from experiencing homelessness or disasters to secured sustainable housing. During the 5th Annual PCG Health Retreat, nearly 100 attendees spent an afternoon at Ronald McDonald House Charities Central Florida (RMHCCF) in a fun-filled race to assemble 500 snack packs and 100 comfort kits for donation. Ronald McDonald House Charities provides a 'home away from home' for families with children receiving medical care, as well as Family Gathering Rooms at local hospitals where families can recharge, grab a snack, and rest while their child receives care. PCG's Chicago office hosted eight CPS high school students as part of CPS's Office of College and Career Readiness Job Shadow Day. All eight students are in the entrepreneurism/business career pathway. PCG's participation in Job Shadow Day continues to strengthen the collaborative effort between PCG, ISBE, and CPS to support students' college and career readiness. Each year, in lieu of holiday cards and gifts, PCG makes donations to selected nonprofit organizations that support the missions and community interests of our public sector partners, and the populations they serve.
