Project Zula / Projeto Zula is home to the work of Donna Carole Roberts and collaborators.
After working in broadcast news, TV production and with non-profit organizations in Montreal, Donna was invited to produce a video for the opening of the Rio + 5 Forum in Rio de Janeiro (1997) and to attend as a delegate. That was the beginning of a Brazilian journey which would span the next two decades, culminating in production of the film,
Her passion for environmental and social justice work prompted a return to formal education at "mid life" to earn an M.S. in Environmental Sciences from Florida Gulf Coast University where she also taught Environmental Humanities. Donna worked with the University's Center for Environmental and Sustainability Education, helping coordinate the annual Rachel Carson Distinguished Lecture, which featured some of our era's leading writers, leaders and activists, such as Terry Tempest Williams, David Orr, Homero Aridjis and Alison Hawthorne Deming. Donna's thesis focused on Brazilian women "socio-environmental" educators, to help fill the gap of perspectives of women from the global South in international environmental education.

has lived and worked in Canada, Brazil and the U.S., helping to bring a global perspective to her professional work and community service.
