We are Project Light Funding Network Worldwide. Project Light is a volunteer nonprofit dedicated to providing adult English language and literacy instruction to empower students with the skills and tools they need to more fully participate in, and contribute to the community. Providing adult education services in Manatee County, our aim is to equip students with the confidence and skills to access opportunities for job/career mobility, assist their children with academic achievement, better advocate for their families’ health needs, and help build a stronger, more vital community, overall. In 1994, Sister Nora Brick founded Project Light to assist English Language Learners in their quest to gain cultural competency and language skills. Ed and Ann Griffin joined her efforts to develop the foundations of Project Light based on principles of access, equality, dignity and opportunity for all residents of the county. Project Light continues to carry out its mission within the context of the co-founders’ vision of empowering adult learners to participate more actively in our community through English language proficiency.
