Kelly oversees Pressman Film’s project development, pushing the Company’s current slate forward, while also searching for new potential projects to develop. He works closely with writers and directors to prepare projects for production and additionally, contributes to seeing projects through the production and post-production stages. He also supports branding and merchandising initiatives. Before joining Pressman Film in 2014, Kelly worked for film producer Jordan Kerner at Kerner Entertainment, followed by working in physical production in New York in both features and television for four years, and then relocated to Los Angeles to join ICM Partners where he worked in the Motion Picture Literary and Motion Picture Talent departments. Kelly received his undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas, where he majored in Psychology, with a minor in Film Studies, and Political Science. Nick supports C.E.O Edward R. Pressman with daily business operations in the Company’s New York City office. He helps to contribute creatively on the Company’s projects and searches for new potential projects to develop. Although a Los Angeles native, Nick decided to pursue the entertainment industry in NYC. Prior to joining Pressman in 2016, he interned for film producer Anne Carey at Archer Gray, and then joined Agency for the Performing Arts (APA) in 2015. Nick graduated from Amherst College in 2014 with a B.A. in History. Annie Pressman — Communications & Special Projects Annie contributes to the Company’s publicity and marketing strategies and to the development of various projects on the Company’s slate. She co-edited the promotional book, . Annie also manages the collection of 35mm prints of the 80 plus Pressman produced films to be archived in the ”Pressman Collection” at the Academy Film Archive, a division of the located at the Pickford Center for Motion Picture Study in Hollywood. Annie has appeared in front of the camera portraying such memorable and unique characters like the tough co-ed, Stella Roche, opposite Michael Caine in the Oliver Stone-directed and Pressman-produced Sam Pressman — Creative Executive Sam contributes to the Company’s marketing and social media strategies and to the development of various projects on the Company’s Slate. He has worked on the sets of Terrence Malick’s Tree of Life and Timothy Linh Bui’s Powder Blue. For the Pressman-produced Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans directed by Werner Herzog, Sam shot and edited The Making of The Bad Lieutenant included on the film’s DVD as well as directing and producing the behind the scenes materials of The Man Who Knew Infinity. Sam graduated with a degree in Film & Media Studies from Stanford University. While at Stanford Sam twice was the President of the Stanford Film Society and Director of the Advanced Filmmakers Workshop. His short film Experiment 93474 played at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival Shorts Corner and his short documentary Tres Fronteras played at the 2012 Palo Alto Film Festival. Sam recently completed his directorial debut titled Reconquest of the Useless, a cinematic pilgrimage to the Amazon Jungle and the films of Werner Herzog. The film made its world premiere at The Zurich Film Festival, and its US premiere at The Woodstock Film Festival. It went on to show at the Festival of New Latinamerican Cinema of Havana, Thessaloniki Documentary Film Festival, Virginia Film Festival, Sun Valley Festival, and Docs MX (Mexico City) among others. Recently Sam produced The Jingoist, a political thriller set in the days after 9/11, which is in post-production. EDWARD R. PRESSMAN BIO With more than 80 diverse motion pictures and 30 plus years of experience to his credit, native New Yorker and film producer Edward R. Pressman has forged a career of international renown marked by originality and eclecticism. Throughout his maverick career, he has brought numerous emerging filmmakers together with projects that have put them firmly on the map. Pressman’s reputation as a daring filmmaker was cemented with the international recognition of the French Cinematheque, which presented a 1989 retrospective of his films and awarded him the esteemed Chevalier Des Arts et Letters medal. He’s also received tributes from The National Film Theatre in London, New York’s Museum of Modern Art, the Pacific Film Archives and the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Cinematék. In 2003, Pressman was honored with the IFP Gotham Award for lifetime achievement. In May 2010, Pressman was among twelve notable filmmakers honored by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences at their “Magnificent Collections” event at which the Academy announced the archiving of Pressman’s films and papers. Most recently, he was the President of the Jury at the Tokyo Film Festival and was profiled as one of twenty notable producers in the book Pressman’s specialty is discovering new talent and bringing new experiences to motion picture audiences. He is known for fostering the careers of young and inspired filmmakers. Director Brian De Palma showed off his early mastery of suspense in the Pressman productions Sisters and Phantom of the Paradise, and Terrence Malick’s visual genius was first brought to the screen in Pressman’s Badlands. Pressman gave Jason Reitman his directorial debut with Thank You for Smoking, and Oliver Stone his major directorial debut withThe Hand then produced his Academy Award-winning Wall Street and Talk Radio. With Stone, Pressman produced Kathryn Bigelow’s early film, the thriller, Blue Steel starring Jamie Lee Curtis. He is responsible for giving Alex Proyas his directorial debut with The Crow, Sylvester Stallone his with Paradise Alley, and David Byrne’s his with True Stories. In John Milius’ Conan the Barbarian, Pressman gave Arnold Schwarzenegger his first starring role. Pressman showcased David Gordon Green’s talents in one of his early films, Undertow, as he did with Sam Raimi in his early film Crimewave written by the Coen brothers. He produced documentarian James Marsh’s first narrative feature The King starring Gael Garcia Bernal and William Hurt. Pressman’s international productions include: Wolfgang Petersen’s Das Boot; the Taviani brothers’ Good Morning, Babylon, Rainer Werner Fassbinder’s Despair, David Hare’s Paris by Night; Fred Schepisi’s Plentystarring Meryl Streep; Alex Cox’s Walker starring Ed Harris; Bo Widerberg’s Victoria; and Werner Herzog’sBad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans with Nicholas Cage.
