Preferred Materials Raised Funds for Breast Cancer Research On October 14, 2017, the Preferred Materials West Green Team raised funds and participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in Wesley Chapel, FL. The team was also able to donate MOT services to guide foot traffic during the event. Employees and families from Preferred Materials and Conrad Yelvington Distributors sponsored a Hunger Project at Feeding Children Everywhere in Longwood, FL. The volunteers packaged 11,327 healthy meals BEATING their goal of 10,000! The meals will immediately feed hungry children in Central Florida, filling a critical need. The Preferred Materials Asphalt Team received 6 paving awards on completed projects throughout the state, from the Asphalt Contractors Association of Florida this year. The Central Region Green Team volunteered at Give Kids The World in Kissimmee, Florida. Team captain, Matt Franz said, “We helped out in Nancy’s Kitchen serving breakfast, carrying trays, and interacting with the guests staying on the GKTW campus. It was a great experience being able to do something as simple as carrying someone’s tray to their table and showing them that people they’ve never met before care about them. Just the few hours our team spent helping out made a huge difference for a lot of people” The Preferred Materials South West Green Team visited Franklin Park Elementary school to participate in the school’s “Careers on Wheels” Vehicle Day to help promote career awareness to kids. Ready Mix Driver, Joseph Elitene, Account Manager, Steven Longfellow, and Green Team Captain, Erica Mejia took a Ready Mix Truck and spoke to the students on what it is like to work for Preferred Materials. President, Preferred Materials, Inc. Earl Losier is President of Preferred Materials, Inc., a regional supplier of building materials and paving services, employing more than 1,075 employees. Earl leads the family of businesses within Preferred, which includes Preferred Materials – Concrete, Preferred Materials – Asphalt, and Conrad Yelvington Distributors, a multi-state construction material distribution network. He has worked with Oldcastle for six years, most recently serving as Executive Integration Manager leading the team tasked with integrating the acquired Canadian assets from Lafarge-Holcim. Prior to this role, Earl has held the position of Regional President – APAC KS/MO & AR/OK, as well as the position of VP/GM – Tilcon DE. In addition to Oldcastle, Earl has held progressive roles with other major entities, including Vulcan Materials and Titan America. Earl earned a BS in Psychology from Appalachian State University and brings over 25 years of leadership experience in the building materials industry.
