Our mission: When you live in South Florida, it’s important to feel confident in and around the water. That’s why our mission is to teach and inspire adults and children to have fun in the water while feeling safe and comfortable. Whether your child wants to join the local swim team or learn recreational swim skills, Powers Swimming can get them there. All lessons are taught thru Powers Swimming. I began teaching children before I had my own 2 boys Dexter and Calvin. They are 11 and 13 and began lessons with me at 6 months old. Powers Swimming has expanded into many exciting water adventures. From Survival Swim lessons, child stroke lessons, strokes, overcoming fear of water for adults to dive master level in Padi Scuba certification. In 2012 Powers Swimming was pleased to add Allison Puleo to the team! Carolyn Gomersall, I moved from Georgia to Florida at the age of 12 and instantly discovered a passion for the water. Although I had been swimming for years, I became certified to scuba dive at the age of 14. I spent any chance I could in the water. After having my son at 36. I realized the importance of water safety especially living in South Florida. After putting my son through lessons just over 1 year and again at 3.5. My passion grew to wanting to help others. To help spread awareness and safety for other children. So my journey began from being a stay at home mom to becoming a swim instructor for others. Now I can combine my love for children and my passion for the water. Our mission: When you live in South Florida, it’s important to feel confident in and around the water.
