Colleen has also been doing a fantastic job as manager of Port de Mer and as manager of our Hurricane Irma restoration efforts. Thank you, Colleen. Port de Mer Board of Directors Port de Mer Udates 1-10-2018 Happy New Year Port de Mer homeowners and residents! We have a new face in the office. Our newest employee, Carolyn, will be helping Colleen with administrative functions on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We are still working on Hurricane Irma repairs, and we appreciate your patience during this process. Waterfront Services is more than half done repairing the retaining wall along the A-side pool. Next they will repair the pool, and then they will install new railings that meet new code. Waterfront has also been going up on scaffolding on A2 and finding and making structural repairs to the building. Several condo units have had mold remediation done and have passed mold re-testing. Several more are scheduled to be done. Port de Mer Board of Directors To all homeowners and residents of Port de Mer, Three years ago I ran for the board because I felt that Port de Mer would benefit from my input overseeing our 40-year inspection and repairs. Now 95% of our 40-year inspection work has been completed. We are currently facing new challenges due to Hurricane Irma and the destruction she has caused. I have confidence that our 2018 board and Colleen will tackle these issues to restore and revitalize Port de Mer. in legal terms, one of the positions taken by this Judge is helpful for the Deerfield case. Deerfield claims in their countersuit that the Town has no right to bring legal action of any kind because the Town owns no beachfront property. The Judge affirmed that the Town of Hillsboro Beach has legal “standing,” even though the Town does not own beachfront property per se. Obviously, we would have preferred the Judge agree with the Town’s position and mandate that Boca follow the Inlet Management Plan’s stipulation to send all sand south. However, while we didn’t win this particular round, the Judge DID provide us with important legal points that should be helpful in the more direct battle pending against Deerfield Beach.
