We are just days away now! Our Rock For The Troops event supporting PTSD awareness for both active and veterans in our armed forces is all day this Saturday at Shovelhead Lounge in Longwood, Florida. Get there early, 10 Central Florida bands have donated their time and talent playing between 1pm and midnight, plus raffles, 50/50 raffles and giveaways including tickets to Guitarmageddon 2017 Friday Oct 20th at The Haven Lounge! If you can't make it to Shovelhead Lounge this Saturday, you can still help the cause. Go to When popular Central Florida rock drummer Kevin Neal was hit and critically injured by an SUV on US 27 in Clermont earlier this year, the Central Florida rock community stepped up. Kevin's illustrious career has included stints with Circus, Pat Travers, The Outlaws, and known by many nationwide, as a superior session drummer. But, now he needs the rock community's help. Pledge4Patriots, a 501c3 non-profit is there to support the cause. Sunday April 23rd at The Post Time Lounge in Longwood, Pledge4Patriots and the rock community are coming together, to help a fellow rocker with a benefit event featuring live performances from many of the bands he played with including a guest appearances by Jeff Howell, members of CIRCUS, Jeff Blando from Slaughter, and Pat Travers. Also, the last part of the evening will include a secret celebrity ALLSTAR JAM. We will also have a biker poker run, 50/50 raffle, prize drawings and we're asking for a $10 donation, with proceeds supporting the rehabilitation and needs for Kevin Neal. The family has been able to get him everything he needed to fight Hodgkin's, and he has just finsihed his 5th round of chemotherapy. His treatment plan included re-staging his cancer with a PET scan a few weeks ago. Great news was there is an overall decrease in the size and no new growth!!! But, our support is not quite out of the woods as of yet. The testings showed some concern for a few lymph nodes that didn't respond exactly. After his most recent biopsy, the doctor wants to move into second-line therapy and begin a new treatment to destory this cancer once and for all. With the Hodgkin's being refractory to current treatment, Jake will begin a new, and stronger, chemotherapy next week. After he finishes the chemo, he will be going down to the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa to receive Stem Cell Rescue Therapy. He will have to spend a month down in Tampa for this treatment as Jake cannot leave the hospital. Jake's spirits are high and our family is fighting!!! As Jake is fighting for his life, we ask for any donation to help Jake through this battle so that once and for all, Jake will be cured. Donations will go to treatment costs.
