The Playful Parrot was hatched, (pun intended) about 18 years ago. The idea then, as it is now is to provide a wide variety of safe, quality bird toys�toys birds love. In the summer of 2005, we learned that the person that created the Playful Parrot was going to close the business. We panicked because we had come to rely on her for the majority of our bird toys. We were driving to a retail show as consumers, and while Pam was making a list of the toys that she wanted to stock up on, I was making a mental list of questions I had about perhaps purchasing the business��. Same trip, same car, different agendas. Needless to say, we closed our eyes and jumped. Since that time, we have endeavored to expand our lines, and bring you the best toys available. We also have a good selection of perches, supplements and other bird products. In addition to the Playful Parrot brand of bird toys, we also carry products from Planet Pleasures, Lucky Bird, Natures Instinct, Polly�s Pet Products, Sweet Feet and Beak, Fetch-it-Pets, and more. We have six birds. Five are rescues. We refer to our birds as our product test team, or on some days, our crash test dummies. We have Tequila the Sun Conure, Vada the Eclectus, Gracie the African Grey, Two Toes the Severe Macaw, Buster the Amazon, and Hooter the Harlequin Macaw. Based on our experience with our birds and feedback from our customers, we have tried to bring you the best of the best. We approach this business as consumers. Birds need toys for many reasons, and finding the right toy is not easy or cheap. We always say the most expensive bird toy is one they won�t touch. We�ve all had the experience, you think you�ve found a toy your bird will love, you put it in their cage and they look at you like �what were you thinking?� We try to give you as much information as we can, so you�ll be able to make informed choices about toys and products. In our ongoing quest to bring you the absolute best bird toys and products that we can find, we recently made an acquisition. We are the proud owners of the �Wingabago for our birds 6 or 7 years ago for the Hurricane seasons in Florida. Needless to say, they have been great for us, and our birds love them. We always thought that if there was any product that we would really love to own, the Wingabago . Remember, not so long ago, we were consumers, just the same as you. In our minds, we still are. Our goal continues to be to make available to you the best, safest toys and products for you and your bird(s), �Toys Birds Love�.
