Sherry joined the Adoption & Family Support Center in August 2013. She handles the financial aspects of the agency’s work through Quickbooks. In working with adoptive parents, she provides each family with an initial adoption summary, bimonthly invoices, and monthly accounting statements. Sherry is also responsible for ensuring all payments, regarding our birth mothers living expenses, are made in a timely manner. She will occasionally transport birth mothers to their doctor’s visits. I joined the Adoption & Family Support Center in 2009. I provide both adoptive and birth parents with information that they would need to start their relationship with our agency as well as daily office responsibilities. I work very closely with our attorney in maintaining and monitoring the legal side of adoption. In addition, I have created hundreds of relationships with other legal offices, hospitals, prisons, doctor offices, etc, as a representative of AFSC. Creating and maintaining all advertising and social media outlets is also a major part of my responsibilities. I handle our Placement from the Heart Support Group Luncheons. This requires coordination with agency staff and birth mothers in selecting a date, preparing the menu and assisting the Executive Director with the set up and clean up of this monthly luncheon. I also work with the Executive Director in creating packets for her many training functions and I ensure all packets for the case managers are ready for them before they leave the office. I am always willing to help the Office Manager with any overflow work she may have as well. Placement From The Heart Birth Parent Support Group Placement from the Heart is a local birth parent support group providing peer support and mentoring to all birth parents. We have tailored made events for any individual that has been touched by adoption placement. One of our most successful on-going events is our “Girls Day Out” luncheon. If you are looking for a group of women who understand how you are feeling, Placement from the Heart is for you. Adoption minded women, women who are in the middle of their adoption plan and women that have placed their child are invited to come and share a relaxed afternoon of good food and conversation. “Nothing is off limits,” you will hear us talk about everything from morning sickness to new hairstyles! You can be yourself, just sit back and listen or jump in and ask a question. Our “Girls Day Out” lunches are fun, judgment free and we hope you join us. These events welcome the entire family to spend an afternoon of swimming, eating and visiting in a cozy, private setting. Everyone gets to re-connect and just enjoy each others company.
