I got started making BBQ rubs at home for get-togethers. Jonathan and Terri Toner are the proprietors of Pirate Jonny’s BBQ Rubs and Caribbean Seasonings. We have our business and production facilities in sparking Clearwater, Florida, located on the Gulf Coast. Our backgrounds are in areas completely different from the food business. I was raised in St Petersburg, Florida since the 1950’s and by day and I am licensed Landscape Architect registered in the State of Florida and also an ISA-Certified Arborist. Terri is originally from New Orleans and grew up cooking and experiencing good New Orleans and Cajun cooking and seasonings. Terri has a background in fitness and the health industry. We are both water nuts and have a 32’ sailboat that we sail around the West Coast of Florida. Yes, we really are sailors! We also enjoy motorized water sports, as Terri has a waverunner, which we go beaching with. Pirate Jonny’s Rub blends come from the geographical maritime region of the Caribbean basin. Our Rubs offer a touch of the classic barbecue dry rubs, combined with the flavors of the Caribbean. We create our delicious products using indigenous and historic spices & fruits grown and traded in this region. Our sauces were perfected by using our own award winning rubs and seasonings, to create high quality gourmet cooking & hot sauces. Pirate Jonny’s Sauces provide our customers with fresh, healthy, all natural flavors for any type of cooking. Our products are also MSG Free, Gluten Free, as well as low in sodium. Pirate Jonny decided saw a need in the marketplace for the amazing tropical taste of Florida and the Caribbean, in casual cooking. Our rubs and seasonings are a unique line of high quality Caribbean flavor based products, which were created to give you the taste of the Islands, right in your own home. We are proud to say we are now located in over 150 Giant Eagle Stores located throughout Pennsylvania & Ohio — look for us there! In Central Florida we are starting to show up in Winn-Dixie Stores — a total of 150 when all is said and done. A big Arrrrgghh for spreading the love with our BBQ Rubs, Sauces & Seasonings! We have created a full line of seasonings rubs and sauces that are all Florida and Caribbean inspired. Our products create flavorful, full bodied foods and we now share our passion for tropical foods with you. Most are mild, some are spicy! We have flavors for everyone's tastes. Since the beginning of the Pirate Jonny's company, all of our products are all MSG free, low sodium, and all natural, with no-preservatives. Our sauces contain and we even make our own Worcestershire Sauce that is anchovy free! We are probably the only Vegan BBQ sauce you will find! We did it for the simplicity of flavors, no-preservatives, and to allow everyone to enjoy rich pure essential natural flavors. Enjoy Mateys! Arrrgghhh!
