About Pinellas Kayak Rentals, LLC Pinellas Kayak Rentals was started in the Fall of 2011 by Denis Wahls.  I had recently retired from Sony Electronics after 27 years and was spending more and more time at the Pinellas County Parks; volunteering, bicycling, kayaking and Stand Up Paddling (SUP).  In the Spring of 2011 my college roommate and family were down visiting at Fort DeSoto Park for the week.  I had given them my 4 kayaks to paddle around Fort DeSoto, Shell Island, the grass flats, etc.  During the week, several neighboring campers asked if they could rent the kayaks and use them at their campsites.  Thus a business idea was born; overnight, extended kayak rentals for campers at Fort DeSoto Park.  Kayaks delivered to the campsites and picked up from the campsites.  Today I can often be seen at Fort DeSoto volunteering, bicycling, kayaking, SUP or delivering kayaks to the Fort DeSoto campsites.
