Preparing your child for a natural disaster is just as important as gathering your food and water supplies. It is important that you talk to your children about natural disasters.  You can explain how sometimes nature provides too much of a good thing.  Rain and wind are important and do good things to help trees and flowers grow; but, sometimes too much rain and wind can do harm.  Explain how the rain and wind can make noise, cause power to go out and cause phones and other electronics needing wifi to not work.  Tell them if the storm comes close, people like firemen, police, and paramedics may come by to make sure everything is ok.  It is important that you stay calm so your children will stay calm. just for them ahead of time.  Let them help you choose things to go inside the kit.  Some ideas include: We are located on S.
