Pine Island Dental is a second-generation family practice started in 1984 by Tom's father, James A. Zurfluh, DDS. After graduating from the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine in Charleston South Carolina, Dr. Tom Zurfluh joined the practice in 1993. He is a member of all major dental associations including the ADA, FDA, ECDDS, AGD and ICOI. Pine Island Dental is a state-of-the-art dental office with computers, digital radiographs and digital panorex. Dr. Tom Zurfluh is involved in community services throughout the community. Through Community Smiles, he volunteers his services one day a month to provide dental access to the community’s underprivileged population. He is also serves as secretary, as well as on the Board of Trusties for Community Smiles. He volunteers at the University of Florida Hialeah Clinic as a Courtesy Faculty, training International dentists in their advanced general dentistry training.
