I have over 30 years of experience in the construction industry. I have a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of New Hampshire. After many years working on heavy civil and industrial projects, I decided to follow my dream by becoming self-employed performing residential renovation work. Mostly using my own hands, I have completed three renovations in the Bangor area, including one which was a total renovation from the building frame out. This has provided me with great experience in all areas of house building and renovation. In addition, over the last few years, I have been performing repair and renovation projects for others as my time allows. Performing this work has required me to become familiar with local and national building codes, especially the International Residential Code. This experience has allowed me to be exceptionally prepared to perform home inspections. Not only do I know what to look for and what is required by code, but usually I can suggest the cause of a construction problem, as well as possible remedies and estimated cost.
Over the past 15 years I have been involved with residential construction from framing to finish. I have a full understanding of how a home should be constructed for maximum structural integrity, efficiency and safe occupancy. With years of construction management experience, I was able to have hands on experience with blue print reading, applicable code designs, and a complete understanding of how all elements, from landscaping to shingle placement effect the current and future condition of a home. Since teaming up with Perkins Home Services LLC I have inspected thousands of homes aging from 1740 to brand new. In addition to being a fully certified home inspector, I am a Maine State licensed septic inspector and a Maine State licensed radon measurement provider. It has become my passion to not only provide buyers and sellers with knowledge of current defects of a home, but also to provide individuals with the knowledge of how a home and its systems operate, and helpful hints as to how to maintain or recognize possible future defects.
After a successful career with Wells Fargo that consisted of 19 years helping home buyers maneuver through the financing of a home, Robin joined Perkins Home Services LLC to be part of home owners being informed purchasers of their new home. She is part owner with her husband. You may find Robin marketing for the company, working on the books, picking up a radon monitor, taking a water sample or maybe a mold sample one of many tasks needed to run a smooth ship. She is a State of Maine Certified Lead Inspector. A board member for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Bangor, another organization helping buyers towards home ownership. Her hobbies include golfing, traveling, gardening and spending time with her family.
I am a native of Linneus Maine (a small town in Aroostook county) and now reside in Glenburn with my wife Leah, son Isaac our dog and cat. After years of customer service/sales, I have planted my roots with this amazing team at Perkins Home Services as the primary septic inspector. Since starting with this team I have completed 300+ septic inspections. In my free time I love spend time with my family while camping, hunting, fishing and coaching my sons baseball team.

Why Choose Perkins Home Services?
Our diverse qualifications provide
How about the person who buys a home and finds out afterwards that there is a hidden crawlspace area below the garage, full of water, rats, and mold. The buyer sues the seller, who did not put the crawlspace on his disclosure form, and also sues the realtor, etc. After lots of money spent, and much frustration, the new owner ends up paying to clean the space out and put in a sump pump.
