About PerformRx PerformRx is a pharmacy benefits manager (PBM) dedicated to clinical culture, boutique service and holistic solutions. Founded in 1999, PerformRx was created to work with Medicaid plans and an at-risk member base. We quickly expanded our client portfolio to include Medicare Part D plans in 2006, and since then we have grown our portfolio of clients to include commercial payers and employer groups. PerformRx is a subsidiary of the AmeriHealth Caritas Family of Companies. Mesfin Tegenu is the president of PerformRx, LLC. A clinical pharmacist and executive with more than 25 years of experience, Tegenu’s vision has resulted in the development of leading-edge pharmacy benefit solutions that enable health plans to improve member outcomes while reducing costs. Tegenu spearheaded the creation of PerformRx after successfully developing a comprehensive in-house pharmacy benefit management program for a national provider of managed care services. Under his leadership, PerformRx has grown to offer next generation pharmacy benefits to millions of people nationwide. Tegenu is active in the community and currently serves on the board of multiple civic organizations. James Brehany, Pharm.D., PA-C, J.D., currently holds the position of associate vice president, chief of staff for PerformRx. He has devoted the vast majority of his 30-year career in pharmacy to managed care. Michael Reilley is vice president and chief financial officer of PerformRx. He is responsible for overseeing all of PerformRx’s financial operations, including strategic planning, reporting, budgeting and supervision of accounting functions. Furthermore, Reilley oversees the accounting and rebate staff as well as all banking and investment functions. As the chief financial officer, he also helps to establish the strategic direction of the organization while monitoring the company’s operational and fiscal performance. Before joining PerformRx, Reilley served in different capacities within the finance department of the AmeriHealth Caritas Family of Companies for over six years. There he oversaw financial reporting including quarterly, annual and year-end audits. During his career at AmeriHealth Caritas, he developed business plans, conducted feasibility studies, and was involved with the strategic planning process. Dr. Marie Savard, M.D., is chief medical officer at PerformRx. Dr. Savard is a trusted voice on women’s health, an internationally recognized internal medicine physician, health educator, and speaker on women’s health, patient empowerment, and collaborative doctor-patient partnerships. She is the author of four bestselling books on the subject of personal health management and wellness and was also an ABC News Medical Contributor. Andrew Maiorini is vice president of clinical programs with PerformRx. He has been with the company since 2005, serving in various clinical roles supporting Formulary Management, Drug Utilization Review, and Drug Therapy Management. Maiorini joined PerformRx as a clinical pharmacist. His scope of clinical expertise spans the growth and expansion of PerformRx’s award-winning Drug Therapy Management program, the implementation of Medicare Part D programs, as well as the specialty drug management, bleeding disorder and Hepatitis C management programs. Additionally, he developed several advanced utilization management programs, including an opioid overutilization management program. In his current role, he oversees formulary development, drug therapy management, pharmacy informatics/analysis and PerformRx’s state-of-the-art prior authorization process. Maiorini graduated from La Salle University with a Bachelor Degree in Biology. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy from Temple University’s School of Pharmacy. Maiorini then completed a General Practice Residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Prior to working at PerformRx, he was the ICU Clinical Pharmacist for Delaware County Memorial Hospital in the Crozer-Keystone Health System. Patrick Gallagher is vice president of operations with PerformRx and has a long history as an integral member of the company. Gallagher joined PerformRx in 2002 as a clinical pharmacist and worked his way up to supervisor of the Clinical department. He subsequently transitioned to the Account Management department as a senior account executive working with five Medicaid managed care organizations and three Medicare Advantage Plans. After two years in this position, he was promoted and transitioned to director of the newly formed Business Solutions department. Subsequently, the Pharmacy Network department was added into Gallagher’s jurisdiction. He created cutting-edge PBM systems in the areas of claims processing, clinical services, compliance, logistics, procurement, contracting, and IT systems for customers. In his current position, Gallagher oversees all PerformRx operational areas, including the Customer Care Center, New Business Implementation, Business Solutions and Network Operations. Additionally, he supports sales and growth activities. Gallagher is responsible for managing all PerformRx vendor relationships as well as internal and external systems development and technical advancement within pharmacy operations.
