Peacock Clay Collaborative is the brain child of five artists: Bridget Abernethy, Victoria Beck, Martha Cross, Eileen DiTullio & Ginny Piech Street. Peacock Clay Collaborative arose from the desire by these five artists to have dedicated studio space for individual and collaborative clay creation.
Additionally, Peacock Clay offers classes, workshops and open studio time for both the dabbler and the serious clay artist.
Peacock Clay Collaborative is located at 203 North Second Street in Historic Downtown Fort Pierce.
I've grown up surrounded by art for as long as I can remember. Born in Cincinnati, I've traveled to and lived in a number of artistic cities around the country, all of which have provided me with unique art-related experiences and exposure.
My time spent living in the artsy neighborhood of Coconut Grove in Miami truly opened my eyes to the magnificent world of art. I was surrounded by artists and creativity each and every day, encouraging me to take my passion to the next level and explore a variety of media. I've dabbled in all forms of art and design from pottery to painting and everything in between. Art is such a crucial part of my life; it is my release, my happiness, my challenge and my passion. I'm looking forward to spreading my love for art to the community through the Peacock Clay Collaborative!

The Cross family operated Tee Bags, a t-shirt imprinting business, after coming to Fort Pierce in the mid 70s. Martha now loves being the art teacher at John Carroll High School. She serves as the worship arts coordinator at First United Methodist Church as well. For the past seven years she has been a studio artist in the 111 Orange Avenue Building. Martha has served on the board of Art Mundo for several years, and is the current board president. Her clay interests include hand building, and the use of layered glazes.
While Art is the universal language, clay is the art of my soul. It is forgiving and flexible and even as a 2 dimensional teacher, I always longed to teach clay. It is my dream for our community to have a place for people to work, play, and appreciate the very special and unique qualities of digging your hands in mud. As I approach retirement from public education, I find the call from the Earth gets stronger and stronger. I am looking forward to making my own special creative connection with mud and new adventures as a full time clay artist.
I grew up in Indiana and earned a BFA in studio art with an emphasis in printmaking at Murray State University in Kentucky. From there I lived in the South Carolina Low Country and tropical, festive Key West. Each of these places has influenced my art perspective.
