Peacemakers Project Miami builds strong, literate, and empowered children prepared to make a difference in themselves, their families, and in their city. By providing summer and after-school leadership and academic development programs, for children who might otherwise not have access to books, the Peacemakers program helps to close achievement gaps and increase each child’s passion for learning. In partnership with local schools, universities, and other community organizations, while implementing the CDF Freedom Schools® teaching tools and curriculum, Peacemakers is boosting student motivation to read, generating more positive attitudes toward learning, and increasing self-esteem while connecting the needs of children and families to the resources in their communities.
