Phillip A. Jaffe, PGA is passionate about golf, both as a player and as a golf instructor. Phillip spent years as a golf instructor, helping golfers of all playing abilities learn proven methods of mastering the golf swing and putting stroke. Phil’s initial inspiration for designing and developing the PalmBird Putter Grip was to help all golfers improve their putting and to help grown the game of golf. His experience as a golf instructor and his knowledge of biomechanics plus a fortuitous “honey do” is what triggered the design concept. Phillip knew instinctively that the putter grip could play a significant part in helping golfers improve their putting stroke if the putter grip were shaped in a way to support the natural contour of our hands. This would in turn help golfers with proper hand placement and alignment. He invisioned a putter grip that could double as a putting aid. The PalmBird design as it is today is the result of years of dedication to research, design, and testing. The PALMBIRD isn’t traditionally shaped on purpose. It’s ergonomic shape along with the counterbalancing will help you putt better… with more stability, greater control and ultimately more confidence. The PalmBird is more than just a putter grip, it’s a putting tool that instantly helps golfers place their hands in the proper position with the palms aligning and toward the target. This is a key first step to a better putting stroke and lower golf scores. Inspired by the shape of the giant Bird of Paradise stalk, Phil applied the science of Biomimicry (art forms in nature) to create this innovative new putter grip that helps golfers putt with greater confidence and improved accuracy. The rest of the family wanted to get on the entrepreneurial bandwagon. One day, Diane noticed an unusual bloom from the Giant White Bird of Paradise and took a photo…the bloom was so unique, she knew they should do something with it…the bloom had points that coming out of a base. She outlined the the photograph and added a bird to the bottom…this was the early drawings of what eventually became the Company Logo a direct reflection of the bloom from the Bird of Paradise in their backyard. Not to be left out of the creative process, their young son (at the time), Nate wanted in on the action. While bouncing ideas around about tag lines, Nate said hey, since it’s a plant, we could say….
