Patrician Capital Investment Philosophy Patrician Capital LLC will work with you as our client to develop an Investment Policy Statement (IPS). Your IPS will be designed collaboratively to provide a clear outline of your investment objectives including, but not limited to your portfolio’s risk tolerance, expected return, required liquidity, time horizon, applicable tax rates, legal considerations and any other specific constraints which need to be addressed under your unique operating parameters. We will then deliver our investment management service within these initially agreed upon guidelines utilizing a combination of individual securities, mutual funds and exchange-traded funds (ETF’s). We are committed to thorough, sound, and informed analysis which achieves superior risk-adjusted returns over the time horizon identified in our initial investment mandate. At Patrician, our guiding philosophy is to allow sufficient flexibility in the management process while maintaining reasonable parameters to ensure prudence and care in the execution of the investment program. Patrician believes that your long-term investment objectives will be best achieved by emphasizing a top-down, strategic asset allocation approach constructed within the parameters of an efficiently designed portfolio which is attractively positioned along the “efficient frontier” according to modern portfolio theory. Investment strategies will be developed to provide consistent value-added returns relative to relevant market-based benchmarks and will incorporate effective risk controls. Patrician’s investment philosophy is based upon a set of factors that have widely accepted theoretical and empirical bases. We believe that some market sectors are relatively efficient while others are less so or inefficient. Investment strategies will reflect a mix of active and passive investments, with passive investments being emphasized in the more efficient markets. ETF’s for example, are more likely to be utilized in those sectors which are efficient and provide a much lower opportunity for outperforming the market. Also, individual securities will be deemphasized in those sectors which are more efficient or those which have less liquidity. Performance measurement and monitoring activities provide assessment of the success of the Patrician investment strategies and implementation of those strategies. Clear, unambiguous market-based benchmarks will be selected for each investment strategy. Performance reviews of all investment strategies will be conducted at least annually.
