PANAMA CITY SWIM TEAM, INC., PANAMA CITY

The Panama City Swim Team is a year-round competitive swimming program sanctioned through United States Swimming (USS), the national governing body for competitive swimming. The program has been in existence since 1954, first as the Panama City Swim Club, and later as the Panama City Swim Team (PCST).   PCST is a not for profit, parent run organization, that was founded with the mission of building and promoting youth swimming in Bay County, FL. Although our ultimate goal is to offer a comprehensive training environment for competitive swimming, we would like to emphasize that there are different age & performance groups for kids and young adults. From a developmental point of view we can say that the sooner the swimmers start enjoying the fun in the water and learning the right movements the more they can benefit from the ongoing - year round in-door training & activities we offer. Feel free to come visit us for a practice session and discover for yourself what it is to be a Tsunami. PCST has a diverse staff of coaches to provide for the needs of the swimmers at each stage of their development. The parents of our swimmers provide support for the program from organizing and conducting all local competitions, providing team incentive programs, socials and fundraising efforts to supporting coaches’ travel to meets, as well as purchasing any specific equipment needs that may arise. Because we are a parent run organization we strongly encourage parent participation and communication is encouraged and always welcome.   Help PCST Build the Champions of Tomorrow! Panama City Swim Team (PCST) is a year-round competitive club swimming program sanctioned through USA Swimming. PCST is a not for profit, parent run organization, that was founded in 1954 with the mission of building and promoting youth swimming in Bay County, FL. When the Tsunamis needed some help over the summer with our Novice coaches, there Bobbie to the rescue.  After getting to work directly with Coach Brian for an entire summer (one of the best coaching minds you can learn under to begin your coaching career), Coach Bobbie has developed into a spectacular instructor and mentor for the Tsunamis.  Since then she has become a tremendous part of our coaching staff and has helped lead numberous young Novice swimmers to higher levels along the way.  Her own daughter, Emma, is a wonderful young developing swimmer whom was a very excited to have on the team!  We are thrilled to have Coach Bobbie in the program and cannot wait to see even better things from her and her daughter in the future. Coach Jessica has come back to rejoin the Tsunamis.  However, when she was last on the Panama City Swim Team, we were known as the "Sailfish".  When she swam on PCST the team consisted of about 40 or so year round swimmers.  Needless to say Jessica is excited to see the Tsunamis with nearly 200 year round swimmers these days and is thrilled to be a part of it. After moving to the Bay County area at the age of 7, she joined PCST and went on to become the Captain of Mosley High School.  She was a member of the All-State Pinch-a-Penny All-Star Team in high school and reached the Sectional Championships Level for PCST. Since moving away to go to college at the University of Central Florida where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management, she has had an incredibly successful career working for prestigious hotels in Orlando, FL, Los Angeles and Newport, California.  Her management experience is going to help her tremendously with the Tsunamis as the Team Administrator.  For the year of 2011, Jessica did an incredible job as our Head Developmental Coach, helping build our Novice and Summer Splashes program to heights never before seen.  She now remains on staff as our Team Administrator by helping in areas such a team billing and new swimmer registrations. The Tsunamis are happy to welcome DJ back to PCST as a member of our coaching staff!  Years ago, Mr. Reyes was a valuable swimmer on the PCST program, as were his two younger brothers Sammy and Nate.  Now that he has returned from college, he carries with him additional coaching experience that has prepared him to become a terrific Novice coach for the Tsunamis.  Not only has DJ been a great Red Cross lessons instructor over the years, he has helped the Merritt Brown middle school swim team as an assistant coach for multiple seasons.  As a result, he has been a positive role model and inspirational guide for our young blooming Tsunami Novice swimmers. A young and ambitious swimmer, Cameron has been with the Panama City Swim Team since he was eight starting in the novice group and is now coaching that group! Originally working in the Summer Splash Program as a seasonal coach, he was asked to join the PCST team as a year round coach in September, which he was gladly to accept. With intentions to advance his coaching skills under the leadership of the PCST staff, he continues to bring energy and fun to the novice group at both Mosley and Gulf Coast pools. While going to Gulf Coast State College to obtain a degree in psychology, he also works as a lifeguard at the pool and has a part time photography job. He is looking forward to a great swim season with his home team and all of you. Michael Kozenieski started swimming for team called Tarpon Aquatic Club in Punta Gorda, Florida in 1999, and swam from them until 2002. He returned to competitive swimming when he joined his high school team in 2008. He would also return to swimming for his former club swim team, now called Charlotte County Swimming, where he would swim all four years, becoming team captain his senior year. After graduating high school in 2012, he join the coaching staff as a volunteer assistant for his former high school swim team, then later joined the club team, while he started college at State College of Florida. During this coaching tenure, Coach Michael coached a wide variety, ranging from high school age level, to novice level. Coach Michael moved to Panama City in 2015 to continue his college education in the field of Psychology at Florida State University: Panama City campus. He looks forward to helping in anyway he can with the swimmers to not only be successful, but to enjoy the sport as well.
