Making the decision to become a pilot is an exciting move. Our admissions experts are here to help guide you each step of the way. From accommodation and transportation, to obtaining your visa to financial advice, we believe that we are the friendliest and most helpful academy around. If you need any more help or advice, please just pick up the phone or drop us an email. At Phoenix East Aviation, we’re on a mission to teach the next generation of airline pilots, and we want you to join us. We’ve created over 12,000 pilots and we have a proven track record for pilot training in a variety of aircraft in a beautiful location. So what are you waiting for? If you’ve been dreaming about learning to fly, it’s time to make your dreams a reality. Come talk to us at one of these events. You’ll learn more about what it takes to become a pilot, and you’ll see firsthand why PEA is one of the leading flight schools in the United States. We’re here to help you every step of the way. Phoenix East Aviation (PEA), is an approved FAA Part 141 & Part 61 flight school that has self-examining authority. What this means to you is that not only does the FAA approve our training syllabus but they put their stamp of approval on PEA as a school. Additionally, our own check airmen give you the FAA flight exam here in the school. The FAA evaluates and reevaluates our check airmen to make sure our flight exams meet their standards. In the end, this saves you time and money. Additionally, we are one of the few schools in the United States to have special FAA approval on a Commercial “train to proficiency” course. Again, the FAA has given us their stamp of approval for this special course designed to save you time and money. Cost of living is surprising for such a beautiful location. Staying in a lovely apartment with a swimming pool and other leisure facilities for anything from $500 to $800 per month really helps reduce your living expenses. With a plethora of restaurants and other activities such as surfing and motor racing at Daytona Beach International Raceway we believe it’s the best location in the world for flight training. As well as being FAA approved we are also an accredited school through the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET). “The essential purpose of the accreditation process is to provide a professional judgment as to the quality of the educational institution or program(s) offered, and to encourage continual improvement thereof.” Accreditation is the process by which the ACCET Accrediting Commission grants public recognition to an educational institution which has voluntarily submitted to an evaluative comparison with established qualifications and standards, both upon initial application and periodically thereafter. ACCET’s function is focused upon educational quality; the continuous assessment and improvement of educational practices; and assistance to member institutions in the improvement of these practices within their programs. PEA is proud of its diverse cultures. People from all over the world train here and we also have a higher than average amount of female students that train with PEA. 12% of our current students are female compared to 3% on a national average. The cockpit of an aircraft is a team environment. Training alongside and with other pilots from around the world helps forge an understanding that has lasting benefits to our alumni. WHEN it comes time to earn your multiengine rating at PEA, you’ll find yourself climbing into one of these Diamond DA42s. Prepare for a near mind-altering experience with the Diamond even as you approach the airplane for the first time. With a sleek dagger-like nose, near bubble canopy and winglets, the DA42 looks as if it’s already doing 100 knots still sitting on the ground. NOTHING on earth confirms you’re becoming a real pilot quite like calling for “gear up,” like when you first begin flying the Piper Arrow. In addition to its retractable landing gear, the 200hp Arrow fits into the complex category usable for a commercial flight test because of its constant-speed propeller and flaps. Most importantly, transitioning to the Arrow often represents the first step for most new pilots into expanding their knowledge base as they learn about the complex systems installed on this kind of aircraft. The Redbird is a high-quality, feature-rich motion flight simulator which provides technologically advanced flight training in a safe and secure environment. It offers a unique training experience for students. It includes wrap-around visuals, a fully enclosed cockpit, reconfigurable construction, and a motion platform. Phoenix East understands that the quality of the instructor is an important determinant of the success of the student pilot. Therefore, all instructors are carefully screened to ensure they are experienced professionals who have the ability to teach and communicate effectively to students. Instructors are regularly evaluated to assure continued high levels of teaching proficiency. Phoenix East instructors are also skilled at ascertaining students’ individual learning and motivational needs and coaching to maximize comprehension. A large percentage of Phoenix East instructors hold university degrees in Education and/or Aeronautical Studies. All are qualified to provide both flight and ground instruction.
