When we founded OwlPoint our objective was to launch a better consulting company. Each of us lived and breathed the “big consulting brands” where clients believed the higher fee somehow meant more value. Time and time again we observed unsatisfied clients because of a poor match of talent with customer needs, provide large-scale strategies without the practical knowledge of what it takes to implement them or the seasoned high dollar expert that sold the solution, was replaced with a junior associates and college hires to do much of the work or subcontracted. There was a desperate need in the consulting industry for services with focus on effectiveness and efficiency instead of implementing another cool technology. Someone that steps back and with the experience to ask; How does this technology line up with business needs? Who is going to manage and support the technology or IT service after it is implemented? What are the true costs of a project? These consultancies are expensive. They charge extremely high-rates for supposedly better skills and experience, but often put junior associates and college hires to do much of the work. Blanke is a practitioner and educator that champions the use of ITSM best practices to transform IT Organizations into efficient and effective strategic assets for their companies. In 2008, Blanke’s conversations with fellow IT leaders inspired him to build an organization that leveraged his experience in helping IT Organizations not only be more efficient, but also be better business partners. Blanke has over 30 years of IT, consulting and executive experience across the spectrum of small businesses to the Global 500. He holds a Master of Science degree in Telecommunication Management from Stevens Institute of Technology as well as a Bachelor of Science in Computer and Information Sciences from Temple University. In his spare time, Blanke is an Adjunct Professor at the School of Management, Marketing and International Business at Kean where he teaches the relationship principles between business and IT, including Project Management and ITSM. Ludwig is an innovative business technology executive specializing in IT Strategy, IT Service Management, Broadcast Media Systems, Financial Management, IT Governance, Operational Excellence and Organizational Transformation. For more than 25 years, Ludwig has led enterprise teams across a broad set of technologies that have extended visibility into technology services to establish transparency, accountability & enable leadership to make data driven decisions.
