The Orlando Youth Alliance (OYA), Inc., established in 1990, is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the LGBTQ+ youth community in Central Florida. OYA operates as a safe haven where Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Questioning (GLBTQ) individuals aged 13 to 24 can connect, share their experiences, and support one another. Initially founded as Delta Youth Alliance, the organization evolved into GALIXY, or Gay And Lesbian Idea eXchange for Youth, and currently operates under its existing name. With a commitment that has transcended its evolving identity, OYA's mission remains steadfast in providing an environment conducive to self-discovery and development for LGBTQ+ youth. Headquartered at 255 S Orange Ave Suite 104 #1985 in Orlando, Florida, the organization is legally recognized with a filed number of N00000007585 under the Florida Department of State. Incorporated on November 14, 2000, as a Domestic Non-Profit Corporation (DOMNP), OYA has been an integral part of the community for over two decades. It remains active in outreach, extending its services beyond weekly gatherings to form strategic collaborations with various community entities that champion youth leadership and advocacy. OYA's effectiveness is bolstered by the involvement of skilled volunteer adult facilitators who oversee events and meetings, providing mentorship and guidance as needed.
