The Florida Real Estate Foundation was founded in 2005 to provide a charitable not-for-profit organization for the Orlando Regional Realtor® Association’s community activities.  The name of the foundation was recently changed to the Orlando Regional REALTORS® Foundation to better reflect the relationship between the two organizations. The foundation’s mission is to address affordable housing issues and improve the quality of life for all residents of Central Florida. The foundation is governed by a board of trustees who are selected from the association’s members and community leaders.  Through our award-winning Art in Architecture program, the foundation partners with architects, builders and designers.  These professionals donate their services, which in turn lowers the overall project construction costs.  The Art in Architecture program has successfully built and sold affordable workforce housing units, including the City of Winter Park’s Hannibal Square Land Trust.  These homes were sold to income-qualified residents, all of whom were first-time homebuyers.  The foundation’s current project is Heroes’ Commons at Jefferson park.  The primary objective is to provide affordable housing for veterans, as well as supportive services.  The support services are intended to help the veterans and their families move beyond the barriers that prevent self-sufficiency and ensure successful homeownership.   Helping Central Florida realize the dream of home ownership
