The Orlando Gay Chorus, Inc. (OGC) is one of the largest mixed gay choirs in the United States, founded on Valentine's Day in 1990. With a rich history spanning over 27 years, OGC serves as a vibrant part of the Central Florida arts community and a beacon for diversity and inclusivity. The chorus consists of individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, or straight allies. Committed to fostering understanding and love through musical artistry, OGC includes several ensembles: OUTLOUD!, Nothin' But Treble, Menage, and Spectrum. These groups perform at an array of public concerts, cabarets, community events, and private engagements. OGC's mission as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit arts and humanitarian organization emphasizes changing hearts and minds both locally and globally through their musical performances. The orchestra reaches over 175,000 individuals annually, including multiple performances dedicated to the Pulse tragedy victims' memorial services in Orlando. Internationally recognized events have seen OGC perform at GALA Choruses Festivals hosted in Denver. Beyond its musical endeavors, the Orlando Gay Chorus actively contributes to humanitarian causes. This includes partnerships with organizations such as the Children's Home Society and hosting the longest continuous Toys for Tots campaign in Central Florida since 1990. The chorus also engages in various community awareness events and retirement center performances, evidencing their commitment to social service. As members of GALA Choruses, OGC benefits from a network which strengthens member choruses through artistic and organizational development programs while being involved with ASCAP and BMI for music rights. The organization is based at 4409 Hoffner Ave, Orlando, FL, was officially incorporated on April 25, 1990, and has demonstrated compliance with necessary corporate filings.
