The Orlando Camera Club is a club that has something for everyone. Whether you just got your first camera or are a seasoned professional there is something for you. Improving photography through education is our mission. We have grown to offer several programs that fit all levels of photographer. The Camera Academy is a series of presentations and field trips geared towards helping photographers at the novice level. The presentations are prior to the general meeting and are great ways to meet those with common interest. Please check the calendar and newsletter for specific dates and times. Because of the Orlando Camera Club’s visibility and membership we have been able to attract several national and international speakers to include Canon Explorers of Light, Bryan Peterson, worldwide author and speaker, and many more. All of these speakers have presented at regular meetings at no additional cost to our members. It’s amazing where a camera will take you and the people you will meet along the way. The Orlando Camera Club is the place to meet new people, make new friends and improve your photography through education. Originally from Rhode Island I moved to Florida in 1985 with my husband. I began in photography with a Pentax K1000 and ME Super. Landscape, travel and family photography were the things I focused on at that time. I began using digital when my son began rowing for the Edgewater Crew team. I became one of the team photographers and have continued to expand and improve my photography skills ever since. As a member of the Orlando Camera Club I became involved in Community Service photography for various groups including Ronald McDonald House, Volunteers for Community Impact, Dreamflight, and numerous other charitable organizations. I have been involved with Community service since as the Chairperson and have a wonderful group of photographers who regularly help me out with those projects. I recently have developed an interest in wildlife photography and love to take weekend trips to the Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive. I continue to improve my skills with the help of those at the club and lots of practice. Greetings, and welcome to The Orlando Camera Club website! The Orlando Camera Club is the largest and most active camera club in all of Central Florida and it is my honor and privilege to serve as President. One of our main goals is to provide high quality educational programs for our members. One way we accomplish that is through our Camera Academy 1 and Camera Academy 2. These classes meet prior to our general meetings and cover topics ranging from novice to intermediate. Members of the Orlando Camera Club donate many hours of their time and talent photographing events for not for profit organizations. This activity has proven to be a very rewarding experience for not only the organizations but also for the photographers themselves. For more info visit our Six times a year, we have photo competitions where members can enter their best images and have them critiqued by a panel of three judges. Over the years these competitions have proven to be a great tool to help members improve the art of seeing, capturing and processing great images. Personally, The Orlando Camera Club has helped transform me into a much better photographer than I ever thought was possible. During the process I not only improved my skills but I also have made a whole group of new friends along the way!
