Kyra Thompson is currently pursuing her B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at Florida Polytechnic University. She has been with ORB Engineering, Inc. for one year and has been able to use her growing knowledge in the engineering field to assist ORB with various projects. She performs calculations for the project managers and assists in the day to day administrative tasks. Thompson frequently volunteers throughout central Florida through the many organizations she is involved in at school. She helps to generate awareness about STEM education and encourage others to pursue a career in the STEM fields. Thompson is an avid soccer player and has played for over ten years. Carlos Gutierrez is the senior draftsman for ORB Engineering, Inc. He studied electrical engineering in Lima, Peru. He has been working in drafting and design ever since, first as an independent contractor and later for ORB. Most design projects will find their way onto Gutierrez’s desk and he is sure to give each one his individualized attention. He has been with the company since 2009 and has been a giant asset throughout the years. Gutierrez can often be found jamming out to music in his office while working on a project. Lizandra Gonzalez is a project manager and engineer at ORB Engineering, Inc. Some of her many duties include drafting, calculations, customer service and project administration. She graduated from the Central University of Las Villas “Martha Abreu” in Cuba. She strives to give the customer the best service, and also the friendliest, in everything she does. She endeavors to find economical and structurally reasonable solutions for each project. Everything she does in her work is from her heart with the goal that the client feels happy and satisfied with the result. Gonzalez works as though each design was for herself. ORB Engineering was Gonzalez’s first opportunity to work in the professional engineering field.
