Who we are Since 2003, Opsens has established itself as a pioneer of innovative fiber optic sensing technology committed to quality and excellence. We deliver cost-effective solutions to a variety of sectors, primarily medical, energy and industrial. Our fundamental objective is to develop and manufacture products as well as tailor a wide range of services for individual industry requirements. Opsens Medical was founded on the belief that our innovative technologies will help improve cardiovascular disease treatment. Our unique Fractional Flow Reserve (FFR) guidewire brings together a robust sensing technology and an advanced material construction, resulting in a tool that is accurate, reliable, and easy-to-use; saving time and costs as well as improving the success rates in challenging peripheral and coronary interventions. Opsens’ significant competitive advantage comes from its innovative pressure guidewire design and its use of new technologies, which include Opsens’ proprietary miniature optical pressure sensing technology. Opsens Solutions delivers a high-end fiber optic sensing solution to Oil & Gas producers, providing them with reliable real-time downhole pressure and temperature information about their oil wells during operation. Opsens’ strength is the ability to confidently control downhole pressure and temperature at high temperature for artificial lift systems such as electrical submersible pumps allowing operators to improve steam/oil ratios and to reduce operating and lifting costs. Opsens supplies a wide range of fiber optic sensors and signal conditioners for temperature, pressure, strain and deformation measurement based on proprietary patent and patent-pending technologies. Our sensors are known to provide long-term accuracy and reliability in the harshest environments. Our patent portfolio currently hold three (3) patents with an additional three (3) patents pending covering its products and technology provided to our markets securing Opsens in an unique position in the marketplace. With its patented technologies and highly recognized expertise, Opsens meets consumer needs in the Life Sciences, Energy, Defense & Aerospace, Geotechnical, Civil Engineering, Scientific Laboratory and many other markets. About OpSens Louis Laflamme became President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Opsens in January 2013. He had been Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary of the Company from November 2005 to January 2013. His main tasks are to define and execute the Company’s strategy both toward shareholders and the financial community in operational administrative activities. From March 2005 to November 2005, he was Director, Finance and Administration for DEQ Systems Corp. (TSXV:DEQ), a company manufacturing and distributing electronic systems for tables gambling. From 2002 to 2005, Mr. Laflamme held various positions within the administration department including that of Vice President Finance at TGN biotech inc., a company specializing in research and development in biotechnology. From January 2002 to July 2002, Mr. Laflamme also served as Corporate Controller at St-Raymond Forest Products Ltd., a company involved in the manufacturing of wood veneer. From 1998 to 2001, he was Chief of Mission in the department certification consulting for Samson Bélair / Deloitte & Touche LLP. Mr. Laflamme is a member of Quebec’s Order of Chartered Professional Accountants since 2001. He received a BA in Business Administration from Université Laval in 1998. Robin Villeneuve recently served as Chief Financial Officer for Federal Fleet Services Inc., a private maritime company. Prior to that, he worked as Chief Financial Officer for seven years at Virginia Mines Inc., a company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. He was part of the team that oversaw and successfully negotiated the sale of Virginia Mines to Osisko Gold Royalties Ltd. He previously held several strategic financial positions for AbitibiBowater Inc. now known as Produits Forestiers Résolu Inc. Robin Villeneuve began his career and completed his initial training with PricewaterhouseCoopers. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Université Laval, is a member of the Order of Chartered Professional Accountants of Quebec and is also a certified corporate director. Claude Belleville is Vice-President, Medical since October 2006. His primary responsibilities are to oversee the medical sector‘s activities by orienting the main lines of commercial and intellectual property development, planning the work and implementing the Corporation’s action plan. In May 1994, he co-founded FISO Technologies Inc., a corporation manufacturing fiber optic sensors, where he acted as President from May 1994 to December 2002, then as Vice-President, R&D until August 2003. In addition to managing the Corporation, Mr. Belleville was responsible for the development of fiber optic sensors, and contributed to the development of fiber optic sensing products and technologies. Mr. Belleville obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Engineering (Optics and Photonics) in 1986 and a Master’s degree in Optics from Université Laval in 1988. Vice-President, Opsens Solution/ Gaétan Duplain Gaétan Duplain is Vice-President, Oil & Gas since October 2006. His primary responsibilities are to oversee the energy sector’s research activities by orienting the main lines of commercial and intellectual property development, planning the work and implementing the Corporation’s action plan. In 1994, he co-founded FISO Technologies Inc., a company manufacturing fiber optic sensors, where acted as Vice-President from 1994 to 2003. With this company, Mr. Duplain acquired experience in high-tech business development and strategic planning. He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Engineering from Université Laval in 1985 and a Master’s degree in Optics and Laser from the same university in 1986.
