COMPANY OVERVIEW Based out of Orlando, Florida, Operation Dental was started as a way to fight the corporate chain takeover of dentistry. On the DSO side, we partner with dentists while preserving their entrepreneurial opportunities. We work with doctors who own their practices and also with doctors who prefer to work as associates. The dentist chooses what type of business model and structure they desire. This has been a very attractive opportunity for new dentists wanting to start their career on the right track, dentists who have a good experience and want to take their practice to the next levels and for dentists looking to grow their business before they retire but are not willing to sell their business to a chain dental group. Operation Dental focuses on patient-centered and doctor-owned practice philosophies. This is the core of our business philosophy and that will never change. On the Consulting / Marketing sides of the business, we believe in strong, written systems for each practice. If it is not written, it doesn’t exist. We focus on lowering overhead, increasing marketing internally and externally, building systems for clinical and administrative management, finance administration, human resources and providing clinical support and training in all aspects of dentistry to our doctors and their employees. In addition to cofounding Operation Dental, Dr. Kelly is a full-time practicing dentist. Dr. Kelly’s experience in general dentistry is coupled with a genuine concern for his patients. Coming from a family of five dentists, Dr. Kelly’s knowledge of the profession is top tier. His focus is on providing the most cutting edge services while maintaining the conservativeness of your classic neighborhood dentist. He is an extremely gentle and highly reviewed dentist. After graduating from the University of Florida with a degree in Microbiology, he was accepted into the prestigious University of Maryland Baltimore Dental School, the first dental school in the world. Upon graduation, he spent his first years training under some of the top dentists in the country until buying his own practice in Winter Park, Florida. Dr. Kelly is an extremely entrepreneurial dentist with a true passion for the business-side of dentistry. He is on a constant quest for knowledge and enjoys nothing more than working with other dentists to help them succeed. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Kelly maintains an active life and is an avid surfer, fitness fanatic, and songwriter. Once a year, Dr. Kelly and his staff host “Dentistry from the Heart Day” where free dental services are offered to members in the community with limited access. On top of that, Dr. Kelly co-manages an annual dental mission trip to El Salvador where he volunteers his services to hundreds of local residents. He believes “Practicing Dentistry is one of the greatest gifts. Teeth are the jewels of the body and their vitality is essential to living a full and healthy life.” Having graduated from Rollins College with an MBA in Marketing and Management combined with 10 years of experience in business / operations management, Matt brings a strong business presence and background to Operation Dental. After being referred to Dr. Kelly, he knew that the two of them would create a dynamic partnership. Matt began pouring through dental business books and presentations to begin learning the industry from its leaders. He also entered the trenches by working for free at Dr. Kelly’s practice until he had created and mastered the systems necessary to run a highly efficient, productive and profitable dental practice. He has absorbed the knowledge of the industry experts and combined that with his own personal spin on business management to create a dynamic force that will have a great impact on the future of the dental industry.
