OPEN ARMS PROGRAM INC, BRANDON

Our Mission It has been my dream, since before even applying to midwifey school, to open a birth center. As women, as birthing families, we need to come together. And more than that, we need a place where we are safe to share our concerns, frustrations, joys, and delights of pregnancy, birth, and parenting. Our vision is twofold. First and foremost, we are a birthing center. We will provide family centered midwifery care during the prenatal period, through birth, and into the postpartum period. You may choose to birth at the birth center or in the comfort of your own home. At the birth center, you can choose which of our 2 luxury birthing suites you would prefer to labor and birth in. Each suite is complete with a birthing tub and private bath and shower. If you choose to birth at home, we will provide you with a birthing tub so that you still have the option to labor and birth in the water if you wish. Prenatal visits are scheduled for a full hour so that you have all the time you need to have your questions answered, feel comfortable, and develop a relationship with your midwife. You appointment can be made on your schedule. Evening and/or weekend appointments can be scheduled if the need arises. We have a healthy respect for the fact that this is your journey, not ours, and we want to foster confidence and security at every step. Secondly, we are a community center. We are open to classes of all sorts, from childbirth education to bellydancing and yoga. We want you to feel comfortable to stop by any time and have a cup of tea. Check the class schedule and become an active member in our community of birthing families. Even if circumstances are such that you are unable to use our services, you are still welcomed to attend classes and enjoy the community aspect of Central Texas Birth Center. We welcome every family with open arms, warm hearts, and positive wishes for a beautiful journey through pregnancy, birth, and parenting. Birth is a normal function of the human body, and is typically a normal, uncomplicated process for healthy, low risk women. Making the choice to birth outside the hospital gives you the freedom to make choices for yourself and your baby that may not be available in a hospital setting, such as freedom of movement, waterbirth, and eating and drinking to your comfort. Due to our low volume, our caring staff is able to cater to each family’s needs on an individual basis. This results in a personalized, intimate experience, free of unnecessary interventions.
