Babyhood is a brief and precious time and we think it should be brilliant! So the stuff we make is bold, bright and engaging. We aim to enthral your offspring – and make life as a parent easier too. We are challenging convention and the villains as we see them – big corporates that continue to produce plastic baby products containing toxins like BPA, BPS or phthalates, those churning out cheap products and all companies wilfully abusing the environment. We never put profits before principles. And we are trying to protect every child’s future. Our individually made, hand-finished products are designed to be better for baby and for the world they’ll inherit one day. We put special emphasis on non-toxic materials that are as safe and sustainable. an oogaa is born Meet the oogaas… Ooh my goodness; they’re everywhere! The little critters that cover our clever stuff are called oogaas and they’re the happiest, most fun-loving party animals around. On spoon handles, dish rims, bodysuits… oogaas smile from every surface and they love nothing better than a clean plate, a full tum, and a happy, healthy tot. In the limelight once more, the oogaas add their happy smiles to every product we offer – so your own little darling can always be entertained by an oogaa. The team at oogaa home is driven by a passionate commitment to fun, safe, innovative and sustainable products for your baby and young child. The four little oogaa characters provide the fun part; our dedicated design and product development team takes care of the rest. Our mission is to eliminate unsafe products in your home by providing durable, affordable wares that surpass the strictest health criteria while reducing the amount we throw away. We are devoted to the goal that our products will impact your child’s well-being in only positive ways. That means using the safest, most environmentally stable materials to fire the imagination with the bright colours and playful designs that babies love. Oogaa was created by Sam Skolnik, a bright young designer who found herself a mother one day. She’s curious, she loves ideas and she seeks to improve because she’s a designer. But she wants it helpful, sustainable and safe because she’s a mother. Feeding baby Max lunch one day, rice ground into her hair and still in her sleepshirt, Sam saw the advantage of making mealtimes more fun: airplane spoons that glide the goodies safely into land; train engines that chuff towards the open wide tunnel; feeding bowls that reveal big smiles as they’re emptied… But on her journey to put her ideas into production, Sam unearthed some unappetising facts about plastics: they can leach potentially harmful chemicals like toxic bisphenol A (BPA) and BPS into a baby’s growing body. And heating plastics (just as you would a food bowl in a microwave) can make them release toxins all the more rapidly. Horrified by what she’d found, Sam considered giving up, but she’s not a quitter. The search for alternatives began and sometime later (Max was a schoolboy by now) oogaa’s first products were made in high quality silicone – a safe, durable material that’s odourless, tasteless, microwave safe, dishwasher safe, steriliser safe, heat resistant, fling proof and all-round excellent. Now the oogaa range has expanded to include even more innovative, healthy and responsible designs for children, and the oogaa team numbers 6 staff and many valued contributors, including our customers. We’re still learning of course – but we’ll be doing that forever because that’s where challenge, variation and freshness come from. I expected it to be great for my 18- month old, but my five year old has sworn off hard plastic and insists on only using his green bowl and spoon, atop his green placemat. Which is fine by me, because the bowls go from microwave, to table, to dishwasher. I make a LOT of microwave mac-and-cheese, so imagine my excitement that I can cook and serve it in the same bowl– and it’s not too hot! Thanks, Oogaa for an awesome new line. I can’t wait to buy them for my nieces and nephews. Just wanted to let you know that the first feedback from my kids regarding oogaa is excellent. They love it. My daughter Thelma loves her oogaa spoons!!! Not only do we use them for breakfast, lunch and dinner but she takes one everywhere we go to chew on. They are great for teething because they are indestructible. We cannot wait for more oogaa products to become available; everything we have gotten has been a quality product and obviously adorable. I just want you to know how brilliant i think your Oogaa Bowls and Spoons are! They are so easy to use and my boy Dylan loves them. My Husband finds it brilliant to feed our Son as they are easy to use for both fathers and Mothers. We are from South Wales in the UK and I believe these would go down a storm if sold over here.
