What is One Senior Place? One Senior Place is the first and still only business of its kind… a that provides information, counseling, referrals, events, and direct access to independent providers of senior products and services… all under one roof. One Senior Place opened its doors in Viera, FL in March 2006. After six successful years in Brevard County, One Senior Place began serving seniors in Greater Orlando in November 2011, with the opening of its second location in Altamonte Springs, FL. Since its inception, One Senior Place has received a great deal of recognition and media attention from the local to national level. By the end of its first year, One Senior Place had been named one of the “50 Most Influential Businesses in Brevard” by Space Coast Business Magazine and CEO Don Kramer had been singled out in Florida Trend Magazine’s Annual Economic Year book issue as “one of the innovators who are driving Florida’s economy.” In 2007, the Space Coast Economic Development Commission nominated One Senior Place for the Governor’s Business Diversification Award in the Entrepreneurship categorylate 2007, Enterprise Florida selected One Senior Place to receive the Governor’s Business Diversification Award. One Senior Place was recognized in 2008 when Kramer was named US Small Business Administration’s Small Business Person of the Year for the state of Florida in a reception hosted by President George W. Bush at the White House. Meet the One Senior Place Management Team Don Kramer – CEO, Founder One Senior Place From its beginnings at his kitchen table in 1998, Don Kramer has seen the first company he founded grow into one of Central Florida’s largest providers of nonmedical in-home senior care. Today, Senior Partner Care Services is a subsidiary of One Senior Place, with caregivers delivering thousands of hours of care each week to clients across four central Florida counties. Recognizing the importance of community service, Kramer has a long record of involvement and leadership in professional and community service organizations. He is past President of Brevard Association of Human Services and has served on a number of boards including Yellow Umbrella Child Abuse Prevention Center, Alzheimer’s Association Local Leadership Council, Senior Resource Alliance of Central Florida and Founders Forum of Brevard. Kramer is a cofounder of both the Seminole Health and Human Services Network and the Brevard County Elder Abuse Task Force. Don and his wife and business partner Beth Kramer are long-time residents of Satellite Beach, Florida. They have three daughters. Kathi Ridner, Director – One Senior Place Brevard/Space Coast Moving to Florida in 2005, Kathi Ridner sought employment that would promote her goal of helping others while making a positive impact on the community in which she lives. With more than 20 years of health care and customer service experience, Kathi joined the One Senior Place team just a few weeks after the first location opened in 2006. She was intrigued by the brilliant simplicity of connecting seniors to the services, resources and solutions that they needed and was delighted to be part of this innovative new concept. Since then, Kathi has learned all aspects of the business and has become deeply knowledgeable in the senior-focused businesses and community resources available in Brevard County. As Director of One Senior Place, Kathi oversees the day-to-day operations of One Senior Place and shares her vast working knowledge of the resources available to seniors in our community with her clients and their families. Kathi and Tim, her husband of 25 years, have two children and reside in West Melbourne. In her spare time, Kathi enjoys exercising, swimming, reading and spending time with her family and friends. Michelle Steffano, BS – Director of Business Development Having started a career in healthcare sales and marketing over 15 years ago, Michelle is excited to be a part of a dynamic team responsible for introducing the revolutionary concept of One Senior Place to the Central Florida market. The majority of her career has focused on senior services and she is passionate about promoting what One Senior Place has to offer to seniors and their families. As Director of Business Development for One Senior Place, she helps promote valuable resources to the community by assisting area businesses and organizations to position themselves in front of seniors and baby boomers at their time of need. She shares roots with One Senior Place Brevard having grown up in Melbourne, Florida, and currently resides in the greater Orlando area. She graduated from The University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Health Services Administration and a Certificate in Gerontology. In her free time she enjoys boating, traveling and being team mom for her daughter’s fastpitch softball team. Since moving to Brevard from Waukesha, WI in 2014, Barbara has worked in skilled nursing. Social work is her second career and passion, allowing her to help seniors with their life’s journey and joining the One Senior Place team as a Referral Specialist allows Barbara to continue her life’s work. Barbara provides consultations to aging seniors and their family members to help them navigate and evaluate complex choices. She always is grateful for the appreciation of others when she provides a referral to “just the right” business or service that can be found here in Brevard. Barbara brings more than 35 years of experience in the healthcare field to One Senior Place. She graduated from Carroll University in Wisconsin with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, and has a Certificate in Mental Health with Older Adults from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She and husband Steve have been married for 41 years, with two grown children and three grandchildren. Barbara enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, cooking and just relaxing in the Florida sunshine. Brenda discovered her passion for working with the elderly over ten years ago as a private duty care giver in Chicago, IL. As a military wife for 21 years, she lived in six states and 3 different countries. Brenda settled in Orlando in 2009. Brenda has served the elderly in a variety of positions since coming to Orlando, and opened One Senior Place with the team in 2012. She graduated from The University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Science. She also is a Certified Care Manager from the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers. Brenda holds the position of Secretary for the Community Education and Resource Affiliation, and is a board member for the Creative Care Association. A mother of four and grandmother of five, in her free time she enjoys travelling, reading, kayaking, and cheering for the Alabama Crimson Tide.
