Hector Cuevas is a decorated combat veteran with 20 years of US Army and Intelligence Community service including multiple deployments throughout the Middle East, the Balkans and Africa. Over half of Cuevas' military career was spent supporting US and partnered special operations missions to include foreign internal defense, civil-military support, partner nation capacity building, and direct action. His last assignment was with Special Operations Command-Africa as the first Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (ISR) Branch Chief before retiring in 2012. Cuevas led GEOINT and ISR support for over 100 special operations missions in West, Central, and the Horn of Africa. In his role as Branch Chief, he is credited for originating an ISR system tailored to operations in Africa that optimized collection and increased operational efficiencies. Following his retirement, Cuevas joined PIXIA, a small-business geospatial technology provider headquartered in northern Virginia where he led the company’s Government Solutions efforts within the Intelligence, DoD and Special Operations communities. As lead of OGSystems’ Geospatial Analytics division, Cuevas manages OGS’ Portland, Oregon (PDX) operations, business and product development for PeARL and Pearl Flash, the company’s 2D & 3D aerial imaging collection and processing systems.
