My gorgeous wife Kendall and I will be empty-nesters soon and so we are gearing up for a grand adventure. God didn’t put me on this earth to work my ass off paying for crap I don’t need until I die. In our spare time we do the things we like; build, travel and play. Let’s reverse that and work in our spare time instead. We may wander, we may stray across this world but we are not lost. There are a few things I buy pretty regularly on Amazon. I wanted to list them out for my own reference (to make them easy to re-order) and just in case someone was interested in some of the gear we keep around. A few of the items at the end of this page are to help me sleep more quietly so I don’t disturb Kendall and to ease my comfort as I am an old man for sure. Ink refills, hate ’em. Our Brother MFC-J450DW is compact and does just about everything; scan copy, print, fax but WOW does it run out of ink quickly. Buying in advance and leaving them in their sealed package helps to make sure we’re covered long-term. This link is for the kit that includes CMY but no black. Lord, help me sleep! OK, I’m old and I’ll freely admit that so I breathe heavier and louder than ever before. These little gems help open up the nasal passageways which improves my nasal breathing by 30-40%. It costs about 36 cents a night to use these so I am “buying” better sleep for a little over 100 dollars a year. They won’t cure snoring or guarantee the best night sleep you’ve ever had but they help nasal breathing. Someday when I’m older and have no remaining self-esteem I will probably wear them during the day as well. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) should be treated by a doctor so this is NOT a recommendation or any kind of advice. I sometimes suffer from acid reflux and this helps me.
