It is our goal to help all paddlers, from beginner to elite, have access to high quality products and services. We offer paddling products from top companies in the marketplace that will ensure your safety and get you out on the water. Jupiter Surfski is focused on providing the paddler with personalized service. We demo all our equipment to help you prevent costly purchasing mistakes or putting you in situations beyond your ability. Ocean paddling skills are progressive and take time. We will help you navigate the right choices for your skill level with individualized instruction that will help you avoid many of the costly pitfalls that we have made ourselves. Jupiter Surfski is committed to ensuring every customer is properly outfitted and trained. This will save you time and money. Mike has always been drawn to the ocean having been born on Long Island, raised in Rhode Island until his family moved to the Virgin Islands. Snorkeling, free diving, scuba diving and surfing were his passions growing up. After graduating from high school he worked for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) on the National Underseas Laboratory System in St. Croix called Hydrolab. Then he relocated to Miami where he continued to work for NOAA at the Miami diving office and served the diving community as a paramedic treating dive accident victims in their recompression chamber. As a registered nurse/paramedic and a professional firefighter for Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Mike helped establish the discipline of Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) for both for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the US Agency for International Development (USAID). That platform enabled him to help promote search and rescue training around the world and respond to numerous disasters including; the Haiti earthquake in 2010, the 9/11 terrorist attack at the World trade Center, the Oklahoma City Federal Building Bombing, the Humberto Vidal Building collapse in Puerto Rico, the Southern Africa Floods, earthquakes in Columbia, Turkey and Taiwan along with Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans and numerous other hurricanes including Hurricane Andrew. Jupiter Surfski an Ocean Paddle Company was founded with the purpose of promoting the sport of surfski paddling. We have partnered with the best companies in the sport to bring personalized concierge services to the paddler.
