Locay has been with Ocala Kidney Group since 1994 after completing a nephrology fellowship at the University of Miami School of Medicine. He's held several key roles, including Chief of Staff and Chief of Medicine, primarily at Munroe Regional Medical Center. As a founder of the group’s research arm, Discovery Medical Research, he also oversees medical direction at the DaVita Ocala East Hemodialysis Unit. Since 1998, Dr. Suresh has championed patient advocacy in both nephrology and critical care fields for the group. He currently provides leadership as Medical Director of the DaVita Ocala West Hemodialysis Unit. Dr. Izuchukwu E. Nwakoby's journey from Nigeria began in 2002 after earning accolades such as Intern of the Year and Chief Medical Resident at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. His dedication to service is mirrored by his role as Medical Director for the DaVita Ocala North Hemodialysis Unit. With a medical education from Connecticut and fellowships including one at University of Miami, Dr. Rogers joined in 2003. He specializes in performing interventional procedures on dialysis vascular accesses, earning national recognition for these services. Dr. Vaghela, joining in 2007, brought expertise from the kidney transplantation department at the University of Florida. Focusing particularly on kidney transplants, he serves as Medical Director for the DaVita Silver Springs Shores Hemodialysis Unit while maintaining certifications in both Nephrology and Internal Medicine. Dr. Kovalchuk joined in 2009 and brings a wealth of experience from Ukraine and Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore. As a board-certified expert, he specializes in nephrology and internal medicine, directing the DaVita Acute dialysis program. Since joining in 2011 alongside his family, Dr. Chitumalla has brought additional expertise to Ocala Kidney Group. Similarly, Dr. Saila Ventra, who trained at Harvard’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Aurora Health Care System, became part of the team in 2011. She's integrated into the local community and provides essential medical care.
