I was born and raised in Germany. I came to the United States at the age of 14 after my father died to live with my mother and her new husband. Shortly after I turned 18 I joined the military and was stationed in Greece. I guess you could say I truly began my profession while I was in Greece 30 years ago. I picked up odd jobs, mostly helping others and began to learn the ins and outs of construction, restoration and design. I have always appreciated the beauty of art and was surprised at the level in which art penetrates construction. After I got out of the military I decided to head back to my motherland, Germany. I was able to get on a stucco crew with the little experience I gained in Greece. It was in Germany that my career really took off in the construction industry. I was a General Contractor with a GmbH (German equivalent to Inc.). I was one of the many contractors that helped rebuild East Germany after the Berlin Wall fell. I had a large workforce and employed many people working on projects ranging from large new developments to restoration of buildings hundreds of years old.
