for Spoken Sanskrit, there are two words we can use instead of saying Nude Yoga. We are practicing Nagna Yoga or Vivastra Yoga. In our practice, we start with an “unmasking ceremony”. In the “Unmasking Ceremony”, we remove our clothing in two parts as in layers to unveil the third mask of ours, (the TRUE SELF). We use the clothing as a symbol of the masks we place on ourselves to function with our responsibilities in the different circles we participate in. This ceremony allows you to go through a transition to alleviate any anxieties one may have to practicing Nagna Yoga. Stripping ourselves from the clothing allows us to uncover the masks so we may discover who we truly are while we recover the divinity inside of us and connectedness to the Universe around us.Terms of Use. My husband and business partner came up to me while I was studying for my Personal Trainer exam and Health and Fitness Associate’s Degree. He is a nudist and wanted to know if I would consider teaching yoga and/or fitness in the nude. With much thought, I agreed as long as the nudity enhanced the experience and not just add a sense of sexuality to the mix.
