Nugget's Racing LLC, previously known as Shepherd Micro Racing, is a company with deep roots in the world of remote control (RC) car racing and manufacturing. Established under its original name after the acquisition of Picco Speed's production line in 2004, the business focused on enhancing product lines and expanding distribution networks globally while discontinuing retail operations. The transformation of their premises into a warehouse signified this shift in strategic focus. By 2007, Shepherd Micro Racing embarked on an ambitious project to develop a completely new range of 1/8th scale on-road racing cars. With Robert Pietsch, one of the world’s leading RC drivers, joining as a consultant and head tester, the team achieved several successes in national and international competitions, including podium finishes at major championships. Despite Robert Pietsch's departure in late 2008 to return to Bavaria, the company persisted under Patrick Schafer's leadership, further expanding into other product lines. In 2011, Team Shepherd USA was launched by Gregory W. Esser and Melanie J. Esser as the North American importer of Shepherd Micro Racing's products, including RC cars, parts, and a new lineup from Brilliant RC. This expansion solidified Nugget's Racing LLC’s presence in the U.S. market with its headquarters located in Pompano Beach, Florida.
