“No Hype”, means ‘Never Oppose Holy Yielded Praise Experiences’. The vision and mission of the “No Hype Movement”, is to change our approach to God in worship, especially, in the House of God. The Lord, our God, seeks our most intimate worship. He awaits the praise of His people. He longs to inhabit our hearts, our houses of worship, as well. God deserves total and complete surrender whenever we enter His house, not “Hype”. Hype occurs when the focus is no longer vertical (towards God). When this happens, we create an environment of confusion, mechanical praise and not true worship. Knowing God intimately; changes the way we worship Him as we gain understanding about His Deity. Knowing God intimately; changes the way we sing, through our experiences with Him. Knowing God intimately; changes our attitude in worship, as we see things from God’s perspective. Knowing God intimately; changes the way we represent ourselves on the platform, knowing we are in the King’s presence. Knowing God intimately; ultimately changes the way we view life, as you understand the sacrifice His Son made for us. Mrs. Matthews absolutely loves being a wife and is the very proud mother of two sons, Chief Cedric II and Master Cephas and by extension finds joy in helping people to grow and excel in their relationship with God. As she carries out her God given assignments, Phyllis is encouraged by her favorite scripture “That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable unto His death.” Philippians 3:10. "No Hype Movement", was initially designed for “Worshipers”, which I truly believe I am. My desire is to encourage and motivate, worship leaders, choir members and praise teams to seek a deeper relationship with God. But, an intimate relationship, develops as our knowledge of God’s Word increases. Thus, allowing us to truly become yielded vessels, while ministering to God’s people through singing. "No Hype Movement", will be my foundation. At the “end of the day”, we must all become “YIELDED VESSELS”, in everything we do for God. Hopefully, as I share with my readers, you will gain insight, knowledge and understanding to enhance your personal relationship with God in every aspect of your life.
