In 1969, Nixon was appointed the distributor in Middle Tennessee for Kohler's line of generators, and by the late 70's, Nixon was well established as a power generation company with expanded Kohler territory. In 1989, Nixon was acquired by Geneva Corporation. Under Geneva's ownership, Nixon's territory continued to grow via acquisitions and additional territory awarded from Kohler to cover a significant portion of the Southeast that includes all or parts of 7 states. Also during this time, the Company directed its focus exclusively to the power generation marketplace and continued to expand its power generation services and offerings. In 2003, Nixon, due to its reputation and capabilities, was appointed the distributor for GE - Jenbacher representing 13 Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern states; an area reaching from Louisiana to Florida to Maryland.
