NEWTRAC Nutrition? The name "NEWTRAC" is an acronym for services: nutrition, education, wellness, teaching, research, and cooking. The name encompasses that which makes NEWTRAC Nutrition unique- personalized attention, the importance of education in lifestyle change, and recommendations rooted in research and evidence-based practice. NEWTRAC Nutrition was founded in 2017 by April Newman, a registered dietitian nutritionist who saw the need for a simplified approach to balancing good nutrition with the demands and busyness of every day life. April Newman received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, and after working in nutrition research for a year, went on to complete her Master of Science (MS) degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Minnesota. After completing The Emily Program dietetic internship, gaining experience in nutrition counseling, eating disorders, community nutrition, teaching, and culinary nutrition, she passed the national registration examination for dietitians to attain her Registered Dietitian Nutritioninst (RDN) credential, which she maintains through completion of continued education and attendance at professional conferences. April is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND), Florida Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, holds a certificate in Nutritional Counseling from AND, and is currently licensed to practice dietetics in the states of Florida, Minnesota, and Iowa.
