About NeuroPAS Global® Who we are? NeuroPAS Global is an industry leader in promoting the Biopsychosocial Model of pain management. It joined with an innovative industry group of compaines to deliver the Biopsychosocial Injury Recovery Model [“BIRM”] to ensure advance identification, diagnosis and treatment of injured workers before they become delayed recovery cases. (See BIRM page for Lockton’s Introduction to BIRM) BIRM includes appropriate up front augmented physical therapy, including a special algorithm to identify Warning Indicators for Delayed Recovery [“WIDR”]. When indicated by the WIDR algorithm, injured workers as sent to NeuroPAS Global for pain assessments. The results enable the injured workers to be directed to appropriate aggressive care, or more conservative care including additional physical therapy or Health & Behavior Intervention. The overall result is improved outcomes and benefits to all parties. NeuroPAS Global provides enhanced evaluations of patient pain syndromes using its innovative NeuroPhysiologic Pain Profile assessments, the NP3. These assessments use globally accepted bio-feedback measurement techniques combined with innovative data analysis and medical interpretations to provide scientifically based medical analysis. (See the ASSESSMENTS tab for more details) NeuroPhysiologic Pain Profile assessments were created by Dr. David B. Ross, the guiding light in the Company’s focus on improving healthcare through using innovative neuro-medical technology. Dr. Ross graduated from Johns Hopkins University and University of Miami before completing post-doctoral studies in neurology at Harvard. He is a Board Certified member of the American Academy of Psychiatry and Neurology, and has been principally focused on pain assessment and management for the last 25 years. NeuroPAS Global LLC was formed to make NeuroPhysiologic Pain Profile assessments available to as many patients, physicians and healthcare providers as possible. The Company has an established nationwide network available to deliver assessments for all the stakeholders whose necessity and priority is to help patients get better faster, and return to a productive life. Assessments can be arranged wherever needed within a reasonably rapid timeframe. NeuroPAS Global is dedicated to improving patient healthcare, while reducing the administrative and financial burden created for healthcare providers and payers. The diagnostic information provided by the NP1 and NP3 most often leads to less aggressive treatment programs, however, due to its objectivity it may highlight the need for aggressive care. Dr. Ross taught the audience about the latest definition from pain experts on the essential nature of pain: it is an EXPERIENCE put together by the brain after it analyzes and interprets many things. Pain is NOT a sensation in the body. He also described why and how “objective findings” on MRI often lead doctors to over-diagnose structural spine problems and provide over-aggressive treatments — because the actual source of the pain lies in soft tissues or the brain itself. NeuroPASGlobal is dedicated to improving healthcare, reducing costs for payers and providers and improving outcomes for patients. We recognized early that the present health care model was ineffective at appropriately evaluating and treating patients with chronic pain. We set out to find a better assessment tool to evaluate patients with chronic pain. A test that can measure physiologic responses to pain and provide a specific pain assessment, where present diagnostic tests fail to do so.
