NEPC, LLC, BOSTON

We provide advice that is objective, unbiased and uninfluenced by anyone except our clients and their goals. We respect conventional wisdom and follow traditional paths—when it’s wise. That said, we don’t shrink from breaking with standard methods when we think that a new direction offers a better approach. A consulting firm has one key asset: its dedicated people. NEPC has cultivated and recruited exceptional professionals with diverse strengths—seasoned experts who understand the complexities clients face and how to help them navigate investments successfully. We love great investment ideas. Superior investing is grounded in superior research and knowledge. NEPC has built one of the largest dedicated research teams in the consulting industry. Focused on innovative strategies, market trends and new products, our expertise spans asset allocation, traditional investments, and alternative strategies. Source: Greenwich Associates 2018. NEPC was cited more than any other firm in the 2017 survey. At NEPC, we’ve created a thriving company culture that appeals to the industry’s finest talent — more than 270 professionals in eight offices nationwide, and a high concentration of professionally certified employees. Our innovative, intellectually stimulating environment draws the kind of people who demand more of themselves and consequently deliver more to our clients. And through the profit sharing we offer to all employees and our ownership program for senior staff, we are deeply invested in our clients’ success. NEPC Gives Back NEPC believes that giving back to the local communities in which we work is a high priority. The company has a number of programs and initiatives to reinforce the importance of charitable giving, community service and truly committing and supporting one another for a good cause. With that in mind NEPC has an employee Matching Gift Program, Paid Volunteer Leave, which provides employees with time off to volunteer at a charitable organization that is personally close to them, and an “Investing in Others” bulletin board where employees can see fundraisers that co-workers are participating in and offer their support to groups like the MR8 organization, Tap Out Cancer or the Jimmy Fund, to name a few. NEPC supports a number of local charitable organizations annually through organized employee events.  Each year we have teams of employees who work with Habitat for Humanity as well as volunteer at the Greater Boston Food Bank. We also hold an annual United Way campaign where employees can make a monetary pledge and/or volunteer their time to help assemble Literacy Kits which are provided to children to keep them engaged in learning.  Other annual programs we participate in are Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program’s Sox for Socks drive, American Cancer Society Denim Day and Movember. Senior leadership across the firm is also heavily involved in supporting local charities on a personal basis. For example, Chairman and founder Dick Charlton and his wife Maxine established a charitable golf outing for the United Way more than ten years ago. They have raised over $4 million dollars since inception, the majority of which has been focused on two programs: Thrive in 5 is a partnership between the City of Boston and United Way that is responsible for a city-wide effort to ensure children are ready for success in school and in life. Thrive in 5 works with community partners to support parents and caregivers as their children's first teacher and advocate; develop and strengthen skills, abilities, and resources for quality early education and care; and provide early childhood developmental screening for all of Boston’s children to help them stay on track. NEPC considers diversity outreach an important part of its workforce planning and recruitment process. Over the course of many years we have strived to cast a wide net in our recruiting process in order to attract the highest quality and most diverse group of qualified candidates. Recently, we have augmented this approach by affiliating NEPC with specific organizations to deepen our commitment to attracting a diverse workforce. NEPC believes it is critical to give diversity candidates exposure to our industry very early in their careers. With that in mind, we have participated in a number of programs that allow us to invest in that belief. We have an ongoing relationship with YearUp, an organization which focuses on empowering urban talent to reach their potential. We have two YearUp interns each year to work in either our Finance department or our Performance Analytics group. We have partners and senior managers who mentor YearUp students; get involved in mock interviews and job preparation workshops; participate in fundraisers; and even donate time to help the organization. YearUp is a national organization with chapters across the country and was  Team members from NEPC volunteering the Habitat for Humanity Greater Boston. We provide the support to bridge your investment and mission focus. To us the goal is simple: your mission is our mission.
