Dr. Diana was born and raised in New York City, the first American born in her family of Cuban immigrant parents. She received a Bachelor’s degree in science from Saint John’s University. She received her medical doctorate degree from State University of New York Downstate Medical Center. After graduation, Dr. Diana moved to South Florida and completed her pediatric residency at Miami Children’s Hospital. She then specialized in Developmental Pediatrics. Dr. Diana has since practiced pediatrics in Naples since 1993. She served as Chairmen of the Department of Pediatrics and Medical Executive Committee at NCH Healthcare Systems. Dr. Diana was named "Physician of the Year" in 2001. Dr. Diana also achieved a Masters of Business from FGCU and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami School of Law. She is an active member of The Florida Bar. Dr. Diana is board certified and fluent in English and Spanish. Dr. Diana is grateful for the opportunity to serve the children of Collier County for the past 25 years. She especially enjoys helping new parents cope with the behavior challenges of raising a toddler. Dr. Diana also performs circumcisions and releases tongue ties. In her spare time Dr. Diana enjoys spending time with her three daughters and husband of 25 years, and two dogs, cat and a guinea pig. Dr. Marineau is a board certified pediatrician who has been with Kids' Medical Care since 2008. Dr. Shirley Alice Marineau was born and raised in Ponce, Puerto Rico. She attended the Catholic University of PR and graduated with a degree in Science with a major in Chemistry. Afterwards, she attended the University of PR and got a degree in Medical Technology. She was the first director of the Hematology Laboratory at Children's Hospital of PR which she developed. She then attended Central University of the Caribbean (UCC) in PR where she obtained her Medical Doctor degree. After obtaining her M.D. she moved to Detroit, Michigan to do a Residency in Pediatrics at Children's Hospital of Michigan. She worked as a pediatrician for a few years in Michigan before moving to Wellington, Florida. She opened a Pediatrics practice there as well as in Belle Glades, Florida. She was the first medical director of the department of Pediatrics at both Wellington Regional Medical Center and Palms West Hospital which had recently opened. Dr. Marineau has been married to Dr. Edward J. Marineau for 33 years. They are the proud parents of Jamie, Stacey, Kelsey and E.J. and grandparents to Bri. It has been a pleasure to serve the children of Naples and nearby communities and she hopes to continue doing so for a long time. Parents may call the office and leave a message on the voicemail for after-office hours clinical questions. Parents are instructed to follow the direction given on the after-hours voice-mail. An on-call pediatrician will return your message within 45 minutes. After-hours phone messages are answered by KMC on-call pediatrician. If the physician determines that your medical concern requires immediate attention, you will be referred to the closest pediatric emergency room or urgent care. If the physician determines that your medical concern may be deferred until regular office hours, you may be given temporary medical advice and recommended to make the next available appointment. Patients are encouraged to provide KMC’s contact information to all after-hours medical providers. KMC offers appointments for the following: well check, routine sick, urgent, immunizations, school physicals, sports physicals, circumcisions, tongue-tie correction. KMC will try to accommodate urgent appointment requests on the same-day. KMC will accommodate routine visits within one week. KMC will accommodate annual well check physicals appointments usually within 1 week and certainly, no later than within thirty days. KMC will remind patients no later than 48 hours prior to their appointments by either text or phone. Patients are encouraged to confirm their appointment or change their appointment as soon as possible. Patients are encouraged to make cancellation at least 24 hours prior to their appointment. Please, remember that a missed appointment prevented another child from receiving care. KMC may dismiss patients who routinely no-show or cancel appointments on the same day. Same day cancellations or no show may incur a fee. Importance of Choosing a Primary Care Provider Having a Primary Care Physician (PCP) is beneficial for your child’s health. Researchers found that PCPs provide better management of health issues and a higher level of satisfaction with their care. Kids’ Medical Care can help you choose a PCP. Your KMC PCP wants to become your partner to optimize your child’s health care needs. Your KMC PCP will help coordinate your child’s overall care including preventive care and acute care for illnesses. Over time, your PCP will get to know your child and be more adept at detecting health care issues sooner and more accurately. KMC has a "health care team" that will assist in providing quality health care. KMC PCP will ensure that other physicians and members of the team also know your medical history. All KMC PCPs are board-certified Pediatricians. KMC’s health care team can provide care in both English and Spanish. KMC makes an effort to accommodate preventative care appointment requests within a few days. KMC makes an effort to accommodate all acute care appointment requests within 24 hours. KMC seldom has a long wait time in the waiting room. KMC provides routine office hours as well as extended office hours. Therefore, there are many reasons to avail yourself of KMC for all your pediatric needs.
